Today we are playing and ranking every single Metal Gear game ever. From it's small start in the 80s, to the phenomenal "Solid" series of the early 2000s, all the way up to the Snake Eater remaster, this is a franchise I had never played, and it has quickly become one of my all time favorites. Snake is an iconic character in gaming, and I feel like I can finally understand him more through playing every single metal gear game. Which one is your favorite?

Peace Walker is mainline. the only reason IT isn't literally called MGS5 was Kojima was worried about alienating the audience who were used to the series as a console mainstay

people will always say “i know mgs3 is the fan favorite but I like mgs2” . is mgs2 not just the fan favorite at this point

Ocelot was originally loyal to the united states, like.....unquestionably loyal. But he had /got so much respect for jack (big boss) throughout the events of mgs3 that he decided to devote his life to him and his cause. For the rest of the series he's essentially borderline obsessed/in love with big boss. Also, SPOILER AHEAD

If you pay really close attention in mgs3 its shown that ocelot is in fact the child of the Boss and the sorrow that she spoke about to snake right before their final battle

I know it's your opinion but Metal Gear Rising being above metal gear solid 4 hurts my soul

Knowing the Cinephile that hideo Kojima was, that iconic dap up between snake and Otacon was definitely taken straight from Predator 😂😂

MGS4 is one of the most jaw dropping experiences i have played to date.

Nothing will beat MGS for PS1. What a masterpiece

Peace Walker is my favorite game in the entire series, and you can still to this day play through the story online with a friend! Which if you think about it, makes MGSVs ending make much more sense.

I have SO much respect for your S+ ranking. I feel the exact same way here.

Saying MGS 4 has no gameplay is criminal

MGS 5 Ground Zero was already announced as a prologue and as a short game leading up to phantom pain. I don't remember anyone hating on it for that.

MGS5 is also unfinished. They planned 3 or 4 more "chapters" in it, but due to the falling out, it sits there unfinished.

And Ocelot was a triple spy, who was inspired by Big Boss swearing his loyality to him and worked with him to destroy the patriots, and upon the disappearance of Big Boss worked as a spy for Big Boss against Liquid and the Patriots, and then after Liquid's death, mind controlled himself into believing he was Liquid reborn and wanted to find Big Boss, but trying to lead Solid Snake into destroying the patriots for him so Big Boss could be freed.

Having replayed TPP this summer on my PS5 but retaining the online resources that have accumulated over the last 9 years and getting to make better gear from the outset made the game move super quick and smoothly and the pacing of the storyline was perfect IMO with that advantage.

bro honestly metal gear 2: solid snake was one of the metal gears I enjoyed playing the most, the music was amazing, it was witty and the gameplay was really enjoyable once you got into it. I still needed to use a guide as some things are quite hard to crack but overall i really had fun

4:40 the OG had two discs and you had to change them with the system on or it wouldn’t load. This game was ahead of its time.

Interesting fact about mgs3 on the 3ds, when snake loses an eye, the 3d feature no longer works in 1st person. You can also make custom camo color mixes using the 3ds camera. I recommend playing on a new 3ds model in overclock mode for a better frame rate.
