This is hands down the second-best documentary I've seen! The first was a doc about the Chicago Bears called "The Handoff" made by a rising documentarian. I would encourage others to check that one out as well!

I work as a lawyer in my day job. Not too long ago, I worked on a case where a CTA bus driver was violently attacked right outside a red line stop on the south side; this was the fourth time she'd been attacked as a CTA worker. She was diagnosed with PTSD. Now, what do you suppose the CTA did to address the situation? Hire security? Compensate her for her trauma? Nope! Try, "hire a psychologist to claim that she was just suffering from an unrelated, preexisting anxiety disorder so they could justify cutting off benefits."

Hearing that anonymous worker testify to his experiences in this video just brought that to mind. If the CTA truly expects bus and train operators to handle violent individuals with no support on a regular basis, then yes, of course they will struggle to maintain staffing.

Y’all need to interview a real blue line operator that can give you the real about the trains

I worked there 14 years…… it just got worse every year

Cta also needs to fix its slow zones the green line should be running faster than 6mph through some parts 😭😭

Fire Dorval Carter! Man does NOT take the CTA and it shows.

Sad. Chicago deserves a lot better.

We didn't even get into how slow the buses are when they finally do show. Too many bus stops. Sometimes there are two stops within the same block. On top of that we force the buses to share the same lane as cars with usually only one person in them. If you make the buses faster and run more or them, fewer people will feel the need to drive. Chicago's transit system has good bones, we just need more care and investment to make it truly great.

It’s very disturbing that the cta is working to upgrade some rail infrastructure but not caring about the ridership at the same time

This video is so underrated! Wonderful production quality for the channel size.

Great documentary. CTA needs to step up and find solutions to their increasing problems.

You can tell a lot of work went into this. Great job!

Showing interviews from people who are ok with service is great reporting

Excellent documentary. Hold incompetence accountable.

excellent documentary. I live in philly and SEPTA struggles with all of these same issues. I hope public support can force these agencies to see the problems their workers and riders face and actually do something about it

She said frequent rapid transit service.. I'd also like frequent bus service back as well. The CTA is more than just the L

Best documentary I’ve ever seen 👏👏

The funny thing is projects like this reduce ridership because they increase security concerns amongst riders

Dangit i wanna sell my car and move to Chicago because it's less crowded and expensive than NYC, but this makes me worried now.

the over arching issue for public transportation is the lack of investment. also you used footage from a public mayoral forum that I produced - where you got the Paul Vallas footage. I wish you focused on the issues for south and west side residences that rely on CTA as some of these issues are decades old
