An Indian cyclist riding from Dominical to San Isidro, Costa Rica. unexpectedly discovers authentic **Indian food at Little India Dominical🇮🇳🇨🇷
Ep.72 of my Ushuaia to Alaska bicycle journey Today, I leave Dominical with my fully loaded touring bicycle, Dhanno, and begin cycling through Costa Rica’s lush tropical jungle and steep mountain roads toward **San Isidro de El General
Just as the ride begins, I find something completely unexpected—Little India Restaurant in Dominical Meeting an Indian chef and enjoying authentic desi food in this remote corner of Costa Rica feels like finding a small piece of India thousands of kilometres away from home.
After this beautiful surprise, the real challenge begins. The road becomes increasingly steep, the weather changes, and cycling with heavy luggage gets difficult. An unexpected lift helps me cross part of the climb before I continue through spectacular green mountains, tropical birds, valley viewpoints and rain toward San Isidro.
This episode is filled with Costa Rica jungle cycling, Indian food, mountain roads, local hospitality and the realities of solo bicycle touring through Central America**.
I am Dr. Raj Phanden, popularly known as *Cycle Baba**—an Indian doctor and world cyclist who has travelled across **138 countries and more than 148,000 km by bicycle* for the Wheels for Green mission, promoting environmental protection, world peace and climate awareness.
