I saw this video about 6 months after it was uploaded in 2018. After years of counseling and medication for depression, I realized that I didn't have a truly challenging load to bear.

So my wife and I stopped preventing and got pregnant with our first child that very month. Within 3.5 years, we had several more. My wife and I now have 4 sons ages 1-4, due to twins in the middle.

I haven't been to counseling or had medication in years. I did my best to be the most responsible person at my brother's unexpected funeral in 2021. I planned it all and gave the eulogy.

I gave up my personal "dreams" for my career in order to stay closer to home for the wife and kids.

These are the best decisions I've ever made. I'll always be thankful to Dr Peterson and thankful that this clip got uploaded.  I believe God led me to it.

This is exactly why young men get addicted to video games.  Video games simulate responsibility by giving you a goal and making you, the player, solely responsible for realizing that goal.  Video games are about heroism and success, which young men absolutely crave and can't find in their real lives.

That's why the 70 year old retired guy is out shoveling the snow from his driveway at 7:00 am. It gives meaning to his day.

Jordan: "You know I was watching the Simpsons the other day"
Me thinking: nice, he likes to chill as well sometimes

I miss this version of Dr. Peterson.

Can you imagine if the camera hadn’t been there? And all this was lost to the wind?

Jordan Peterson is like the stepdad who actually cares about you

While my husband can help me to a certain extent with the child-rearing, he has taken on the responsibility of being the provider for our family. For years before this I had rejected that men and women should have these particular roles. Now, suddenly, I understand. I try to tell my husband every day that I am grateful for his work and for everything he does to support our family. I know it is important for him to know that he is doing something with a purpose. I KNOW that caring for my baby has a purpose; I think he needs to be reminded sometimes that going to work every day is for a purpose as well. So I make sure to thank him. <3

Lesson of the lecture: Responsibility gives life meaning.

I love this quote.

I read a short story in my german class and it's about a boy who doesn't feel needed by anyone so he gets suicidal. But as he was trying to kill himself he reminded himself that he still had to get wood for his family so he went on to get that wood. The responsibility of getting wood for his family is what kept him sane , needed and alive.

Rip to the dude who had eyecontact during the "YOURE USELESS" segment. Hope he has picked up responsibility in later times (:

"That's the counter culture. Grow the hell up and do something useful." The truth of that just slapped me right in the face.

Youtube has been recommending these Jordan Peterson videos for months and I've been ignoring them.


What a mistake.

I am a woman and Jordan Peterson changed my entire life and viewpoint. I will always be thankful to this man.
