The water is the old salt flats. They are a big part of Alykes history. The beach is pure sand, there arent and rocks or seaweed in the gentley shelving water. It is crystal clear. Pure bit of paradise. There is much more to Alykes beyond that main strip. Try Virago bar and Apollo restaurant furthur up the road. Beach bar Hakuna matata up that way as well. 3 bars next to each other on main strip Palm Tree, Garden bar and Anatolykos all really good. Enigma a bit posher along with fish restaurant called Fishalida. Stunning food. Also fidelios is a fave of ours for food. There is so much more just a few steps off the main drag. Asteria, cheers bar, buca bar, bis bar. These videos never show all which is a shame but this did very well 😁. I love Alykes so im passionate about all it has to offer. 👍🏻🙌🏻🥰

Thanks for showing, it really is a lovely place. The pink flowers are called Bougainvillea and the weird tree is a Norfolk Island Pine. Use of the name Zorba is probably in reference to the old film Zorba the Greek. Yamas!

We stayed in Alykes this June & yes it’s a really beautiful lovely tavernas restaurants & bars ..the beach as you said is incredible ..small resort away from the buzz of Alykanas ..beach bars are very chilled …perfect getaway….great channel ..love it 😊

Brings back great memories of when i lived and worked in zante , i know quite a few of the greeks around alykes and alykanas and used to do the karaoke at palm tree , very nice people sakis , lisa , billy and regina , petros and Georgina at garden bar , ruby, matt, joe at rubys bar and many more . Palm tree II at beach side is a beautiful place to spend your days with lovely food and great staff , if you go say hi for me , just mention 'garryoke' lol they are very good friends. Thanks for the video , not been back for 3 or 4 years , not many changes i noticed only spikey moved from the crossroads right in the village to river side. 👍

So much more to Alykes, right up by the Apollo other end of salt flats some lovely bars and restaurants , up by Fidelios up to Iris bar, Piccadilly etc. lovely
places by the side of the salt flats to eat too. Not just whats on the main road through, but lots of lovely hidden places, if you know, you know.

The lamb kleftiko in Fidelios is possibly the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life I had it every day of my holiday 😆

Cheers for that mate , brought back memories from 2003 when I took myself off there when I was in between women . Great place to chill -23 years older now - not sure I could handle those bars after dark .

Well well simon...you've finally excelled yourself in finding the best Greek resort so far. So well done to you...Karen would have loved that beach. Stunning beach....but.....not as nice as alcudia 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 but all the same. Beautiful beach....sooo many bars and eateries...looks like it pretty laid back spliff toking kinda place 😂😂😂. 😂..very pretty flowers and prices were pretty good to...Karen would have loved the cocktails bless her.....would we stay there mmmmmmmmm...yeahhh I think we would if Ian would fly for 4 hrs......so we'll never go...but I may well visit sometime....again simon yet again another brilliant video...love um so thank you and well done.....love to you both. Hi Simon, just watching you’re Alykes/Alykanas as thinking about going in October..Do you remember what time of year you went as heard different things about bars/restaurants closing post summer season? It looked perfect the time of year you went for a relaxing break.
