Dad's Army - The Cricket Match | BBC Radio Comedy
Les Maîtres du mystère
9,377 views
Welcome back to *Dad’s Army*, the beloved BBC Radio comedy where the Home Guard’s adventures grow ever more ambitious—and hilariously out of control. This collection features **Episodes 007, 008, and 009**, where the platoon starts taking on bigger responsibilities… with predictably chaotic consequences.
With a bit more experience under their belts (and perhaps a bit too much confidence), Captain Mainwaring and his men attempt to handle increasingly important duties. But whether it’s guarding key locations, responding to unexpected alerts, or simply trying to follow orders, things rarely go as planned. Miscommunication, overreactions, and strong personalities continue to turn simple tasks into comic disasters.
🎖️ What to expect in Episodes 007–009:
The platoon tackling more “serious” assignments—with very unserious results
Captain Mainwaring striving for control as situations slip further from his grasp
Hilarious misunderstandings and exaggerated reactions to minor problems
The group dynamic becoming stronger, louder, and even more chaotic
These episodes showcase the growing identity of the platoon—where teamwork improves slightly, but the comedy only gets bigger and better.
💬 Listener Question:
Is the platoon actually getting better… or just more creatively incompetent?

About as usful as a Chocolate fire guard.
Loads of Home Guard died during training ether by "Accidents " or more likely deliberate action by their fellows settlerling old scores.
Home guard was also responsible for theift from bombed out shops factories and homes .
And looting from dead bodies.
Being in uniform was like a get out of jail card.
The graphics are very disrespectful of the acurate details of Uniform. Not a genuine battledress in site from the 1940s. Helmets are American Russian and Italian. The peaked caps are American or Nazi. The decoration on the unform is, alarmingly, Nazi .
If Ai was used to generate and desacrate our British ancestors it should be court martialled. Disgraceful.
