Join me for another evening of sea fishing on the Holderness Coast in East Yorkshire, this time fishing at Runnels, between Sewer Farm (Hollym) and Holmpton.
It's late September and we're in that interesting changeover period between the summer species and the arrival of the winter cod. With a 5.7m high tide, plenty of colour in the water and a gentle swell, I target sole and other flatfish close in, while fishing further out for bass, whiting, turbot, smoothhound and possibly a ray.
The session produces a mixture of species including bass, flounder and sole, with seven fish caught in total. I also talk through the beach features I look for when choosing a mark, including gullies, sandbanks and areas of variation in the beach profile, as well as the King Ragworm presentation I've been using.
As always, there's more to a session on the Holderness Coast than just the fishing, with some great wildlife activity during a beautiful September evening.
If you enjoy East Yorkshire sea fishing, Holderness Coast fishing, beach fishing and following the changing seasons on the Yorkshire coast, I hope you'll enjoy this session.
