Doll Afterlife

Oni is one of the most popular creatures in Japanese folktales, but this time I've decided to go for a modern interpretation of oni and try to reimagine him as a street gang leader.

When the mask for your doll is more detailed than 90% of masks for humans 🤯 the skyrim meme 😂

A sukeban Oni? Doesn't get much cooler than that! The bat was such a cool finishing touch.

She is amazing! I love this series and I definitely love the modern take on this one. Even though there are so many humanoid monsters to choose from in Japanese mythology, I would also love to see a kirin or a dragon girl!

As someone who just picked up sewing again and has started making their own patterns, seeing you make the jacket pattern was mind blowing. Thank you for including the pattern drafting in your video, its honestly an inspiration to me now lol

The pockets, the mask and bat/accessories are everything for me ❤

I love how you're so closely attentive to detail, and can tell a story based on culture throughout the whole process of your doll creations. I am learning about the Japanese's folklore and getting entertainment at the same time ! so beautiful

I love the modern take on a classical being! You have beautiful attention to detail and I enjoy seeing you problem solve the color dilemma of the Jigen eye.

She is GORGEOUS. I love your referencing traditional art, and your incorporating actual Japanese gangster fashion. Your art style, also, is SO good asldjsj. The mask and face look AWESOME. And seeing your process for modifying/making the patterns were SO cool!!!!!!

she is sooo badass. i love the color combo, the icy blue against the strong, firey red. also the details on the mask are amazing - you're a great sculptor!

36:45 - I just about spat out my drink on my lap because I wasn't expecting to see the jacket flex its "muscles" for a second time. 😂😂😂 Your attention to details is amazing, and I loved the Japanese folklore.
