Long live the Costco hot dog! A beacon of hope

I had no idea the dollar menu was gone. Guess that's how often I go to fast food.

I listened to this on my way to work for a whole week. Ty for the great content!

$0.58 in 1958 is $6.45 today

Cheap eats to gourmet treats, this was such a fun ride. Always wild to see how some food costs next to nothing while others are priced like gold

i remember McDonalds charging what they called an " eat in tax "

Those 1.49 nuggets and Wendy's 4 for 4 kept me alive during my addictions

That $1.00 Whopper was a steal back in the 90’s!

The nostalgia of fast food prices used to evoke bittersweet yearnings for simpler times when you could indulge in a meal for pocket change. It's a little shocking to think about how just two decades ago, a couple of quarters could’ve unlocked a feast at the dollar menu! Nowadays, it feels more like a mythical relic—wondering where on earth it vanished to while watching our wallets shrink. With today’s drive-thru prices skyrocketing, it begs the question: what in the world happened to the dollar menu?

Anyone remember 49¢ cheeseburger days at McDonald's? Sigh...

I visited Egypt in November, 2024. The cost of a Big Mac meal there was 210 Egyptian pounds for small combo which is $4.20. Medium was a 270 Egyptian pounds and large was 310. The Big Mac sandwich in Turkiye was 180 lyra ($4.93) in May, 2024, and 250 PHP ($4.33) and in Kuwait, 1.50 KD ($4.86). So, outside of the US, the prices are not so ridiculous. And the apple pie is fried, not that baked garbage.

Being a 80s baby and a 90s kid I guess I was spoiled 😂 I remember being able to get 2 Big Macs for 5 bucks and I remember that 1 dollar menu from McDonald's as well. Now a trip to taco bell costs over 20 dollars for me and my wife !

So ... the guy that invented Ramen bricks was as near penniless as any point in his life.  Keeping poor people alive since he opened his business.  Most of us have had Ramen times in our life.  I currently have many cases ready for an emergency situation.

I have been binge watching this channel since yesterday!! It makes me laugh and one of my new favs!!

I remember working 5.75 an hour at Office Depot and when grocery shopping on my way home I would get my warm cokes out of the bag and stop by a drive thru and ask McDonalds or Burger King for two empty cups with ice. I would get them and fill em with whatever cans I bought. Be it Coke or some new fancy drink flavor Coke or Pepsi came out with. Free of charge.

The Costco hotdog and a coke was originally sold out of a food cart in front of the store.

went to mcdonalds for a coffee and fries, total came out to like $7, was flabbergasted

😂 I often just go to Costco for lunch. $1.50 for lunch simply can't be beat.

Payday isn't 'till tomorrow..

They still have cup noodle billboards in time square, just 3d virtual ones. 😊
