Thanks for having me on. The tournament so much fun to play and I am glad the deck performed really well. Granmarg was the MVP.

Hey ma 👋. This is Lawrence from the tourney lol. Overall, looking at the replay I think I played the set alright.
The one misplay I think was normal summoning the Mystic Swordsman LV 2 in game 1. My thought process at the time was I didn't want him to have live NoCs. But I forgot he already pitched a NoC to the grave for Tribe's effect. So setting was the move. It might have also been more optimal to put the Mystic Swordsman LV 2 in defense before attacking with Blade Knight. At that point, Julian was at 3900 LP so hitting for an extra 900 would have been negligible as he was already on a 2 turn clock with Blade at 2000. Putting Mystic in defense position would have given Julian pause to use his Mirror Force. But I think even at that point he could've kept the Mirror and the game would still be fully in his tempo. Especially with Heavy Storm already in the grave. Julian having a Mirror Force, Snatch Steal, and drawing a Giant Rat was GGs at the point as he had an answer to everything I could summon lol. 2 Solemn Judgments early game against Earth Aggro was real unluckers 🙃
I think game 2 I played as perfectly as I could but just got unluckers that game too. The duo really cucked my azz . My starting hand was BLS, ROTA, Breaker, Heavy, Call of the Haunted, and Widespread Ruin. I preemptively ROTA for Blade because I wanted a light monster right away to make my BLS active as I already had a dark monster (Breaker) in hand. There are times to wait to use ROTA. For example, if you wanted to limit deck information to your opponent or limit monster cards in hand to boost Blade Knight by 400 etc. But at the point, Julian knew what deck I was playing at that point lol. Also you do technically thin your deck which makes you have a higher chance of drawing a trinity piece. Julian actually did so at 6:05 to deck thin. He ROTAs for Exiled Force and then uses Graceful Charity for optimal deck thinning.
At 6:01 my hand was BLS and Call of the Haunted. The reasoning for discarding Breaker instead of Call was the moment my Blade dies, I have a live BLS and a Call to bring him back if he gets answered. At 8:45 I was thinking of putting BLS in attack or defense mode. Some Earth Aggro lists play Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke. But I remembered he had Exiled Force already and I decided defense is better lol.
At 9:11, the Smashing Ground was also bad as I knew even if I called back my BLS he could just Exile it again lol. At 9:23, I took the hit instead of Calling back BLS. This is because if I summoned BLS then he could have either 1. Crash his Gigantes into BLS and Gigante’s heavy storm effect would have killed BLS anyway. Which is still a really good 1 for 1 for Julian. 2. Julian could have gone to Main phase 2 and just Exiled the BLS and he would still have a juicy 1900 Gigantes Beater slapping me like I’m Rihanna and he Chris Brown. So I waited to use the Call to banish his Gigantes next turn. He would then have to answer the BLS with Exile wasting his normal summon. The rest of the game was just unfortunate. The dust tornados straight put in work. It ran up on a killer and put him in the dirt. Getting my Call of the Haunted BLS and Swords of Revealing Light.
Overall, I think I played it pretty good but the trinity and Dust Tornados really fucced me lol. But it was fun ass tourney overall. I'm happy I won a switch and my hair looked good that day 😎 lol. I think I’m going to side out Solemns and side in different cards when I play against Earth Aggro as them foos just are too beefy. I sided the same for a Warrior Mirror when I realize you should side a lil different against Earth Aggro. Lets play again next time! If I’m in San Diego for an event let’s get good ass Phils BBQ! 😋
P.S
Don't judge my goofy azz youtube name. I made that name in highschool. When I was loner, I was a reject, I was a poser. 😫

I usually hold Rota to get the specific answer I need. But sometimes I’ll Rota first if I have a pog or graceful so I can draw into a chaos play or something other than whatever warrior I’m most likely to search anyway. Usually a dd or exiled

Cool how relaxed the finals were, but Julian blew that dude away. His spirit is sitting in the next realm.

These videos help me chill after a long day at work. I miss older yugioh. I really wish I was born in like 95 or 93 so could have experienced the earlier formats at a competitive level.

Appreciate the shoutout king, also congrats to my boy Julian for winning this tournament! He’s an insanely knowledgeable player and someone I look up to immensely!
