It’s so weird how movie writers don’t think men can be vulnerable or nuanced. Off the top of my head Jim carry’s best roles usually involve him being vulnerable

I said this already, but i'm going to say it one more time. The sad thing is a silent hill 2 movie could actually work. Because if you just add up all the cutscenes, it's about 1 hour and 19 minutes. So as long as you add some good extra content and have a director who understands the material. You could have an awesome 2-hour movie.

Actually out of all the og SH2 voice cast, only James and Eddie's voice actors who aren't professionals. Everything about the voice acting was intentionally directed that way.

Just want to say that the voice performance of Angela is very much intentional. The way she plays Claudia in SH3 is strikingly different, and both performances contextually fit the characters being portrayed in each game. The uncanniness was definitely an intentional decision, which was likely chosen in part because some of the performers were amateur. The directors know this and work within their means to make an effective performance out of the actors despite their lack of experience.

It's not really the same situation for a lot of other voice acted games from this time period. The Team Silent developers understood what they were working with and found ways to make it work in context, compared to idk that one clock tower game where the performances don't match the characters.

Also fun fact, the voice actors also did the rotoscoping for the cutscenes too, so they're doing a whole performance in SH2

Oh my gosh.... I'm so thankful I never watched this insult of a movie. Silent Hill 2 was such a masterful psychological story with complex characters. It easily could have been such a great movie that could have challenged its audience. But of course, not only did the producers or whoever was in charge remove most if not all of the good aspects of the game for this movie, they fundamentally changed James's character to make him easier to digest. He is no longer the morally questionable protagonist, he is now just a good guy in a bad situation. That's so disappointing and boring.

Hello! Just wanted to say your title say Part A despite this being the second part. Also, I think you linked the wrong video in the description? That one is about Fear and Hunger
