"It's All About The Music, Neil" (& Other HiFi Lessons).
Today I go to learn more about high-end head-fi.
And I ask HiFi expert Danny how I can improve my system (in the pub).
I prepare for CanJam 2026.
I hear the best HiFi system I've ever experienced, and I am jealous. But I know I shouldn't be, because...
And of course there's a System of the Day with an interesting slant.
Thanks for watching, engaging, commenting.

Too right! It’s all about the music 🎧 🎶 Plus home cinema in my case as well . I am not 60 yet. I’m 52years old 😉 53 next year.

Of course it's about the music. But goddamn it would sound amazing on B&W 801's 😂

I think more than anything else I see in stereo systems, you show that peeks my interest are the simple, basic, inexpensive stereo systems. You can't beat a great pair of headphones. I don't have a set, but I'm saving. One product at a time as I save my pennies. As always, a very good time watching your show.

Hi Neil and Jane. I hope you were listening to Danny when you were at the pub…he gave you sound advice (couldn’t resist). Back when you were slaving over where to put your sub it was really a problem of how to best load the room for bass frequencies because you are using your “Satellites of Love”😇 for near field listening. I suspect you’ve ended up with the sub in a near optimal position given its frequency response. Ie near 2 boundaries.
Cheers.

You are absolutely right, it’s about the music. Use what ever system you want or have, keep on spinning. And you are getting to be quite the interviewer/ product review. Well done Cheerio.

Hi Neil, great to see you. You're right, its all about the music. And with that in mind.. how about a 'Record Of The Day' segment too? Cheers, D.

I always get annoyed when people ask on Reddit etc for advice and people say unless you spend £xxx don't bother. We all start somewhere and there are some really good budget systems. My friend has an Angels Horn with the separate speakers and for around £200 it's great. He's enjoying the hobby. The gatekeepers that say you need this, or that have forgotten it's about enjoying music.

You must know his room is different and maybe that system wouldn’t do anything in your room! So…

good morning mr muddy :hand-pink-waving: great vid mate even though im not a great fan of headphones i no some of them sound excellent and a lot of people love them . but i just love speakers to much and i find speakers a lot more fun . and i no if your that person who gets shouted at by the wife every time you crank the volume up then you need a good set of headphones 😂 but luckily i have never had that problem , have a great day mate rattlesnake

Hi Neil how lucky Danny is to have so much Hifi in his living room as I know my wife would just look at that as clutter, like Jane she would be happy with just one little speaker to play music. Really enjoyed this video thanks mate.

I have always thought the Sennheiser 400 series are the best I've heard.
But now have trouble with phones as trigger tinnitus.
