This is accurate to the comic series defiance

Short fact about 2007 autobots protoforms
After the autobots left cybertron they lost their cybertronian vehicle parts and stripped down into protoform mode as a mode for hibernation/stasis until they landed and got a new alternate form, and got their body type back

Fun fact for the longest time THIS was the only figure of prima, that’s because some prequel movie comics used this as their prima design and so for like 20 years this was the only semi official figure of the first transformer

The Armada Wheeljack, master of Pain

They casually made one the best figures of all time

That boxed version signed by aaron archer is legendary!! I may need to copy you

This figure is weird but also idk makes sense because the protoforms appeared in the first movie but they're very strange toys, essentially Starscream

ALSO Hasbro Plus steam tonight!!

ThatToyGuy: Stupid Ass Droid.
Random Droid: Dude wtf? What did I do?

I bought the Starscream protoform at a con last month, it's still in packaging, and I plan on keeping it in there for fear of gps

I don't get why you guys are so mad about this, i remember passing it up when i was 10 in favour of toys that turned into vehicles, not rocks. But respect, the nostalgia makes it hit i guess

I remember this! I had this figure (the original blue deco) as a kid, and I remember being strangely drawn to it because of how well articulated it was for the time - though somehow I never noticed the ab crunch while owning it! I used to play Transformers Autobots on the DS a lot back in my childhood too, so in my play sessions I would often repurpose this figure as the Create-A-Bot protagonist at the start of the game. (Because you start as a Protoform before being taught how to scan your vehicle mode)
Seeing you cover this figure was a real blast from the past for me. Congrats on the signed copy, BTW!

OH MY GOD TITAN GRIMLOCK IS A THING AND I JUST WANT HASBRO TO TAKE MY CREDIT CARD

I had this one. It was a surprisingly awesome toy. I made a stop motion movie in school where he melted a Cybertron Dinobot using green clay to simulate the melting effect. I really miss having it

I love the Protoform toy!! I hope Studio Series makes a subset dedicated to them!

loved this figure as a kid

I wish studio series would make protoforms so bad. Like i would buy so many decepticon protoforms to fill out an army

If only Studio Series locked in this much

I still have hope ss will give us an autobot protoform and a decepticon one in the future

The fact that he basically has the classic Optimus transformation is so clever

fished this out of my cupboard the other day, apparently I had this since I was 3 and completely forgot about it

05:24 That is not true!
Landmine from the 2007 movie toyline had FANTASTIC articulation- especially once you used something like nail polish to tighten the ball joints on him
