also john: proceeds to make a straight crosscut

That mouse @11:15 was 1/4" away from being cut in half. That's one lucky mouse

@Erik_The_Viking 4 years ago

Damn that mouse was lucky. Hope she finds a nice new home for her babies.

Be warned, that colour won’t stick around long, the surface will oxidize to a very dark almost reddish colour until it’s sealed with a poly or such

Sam's clearly a boyscout. Every boyscout in America (and probably the world) tells the exact same story about what a bowline is for. And you need to to be able to tie it one handed, in case you fall down a cliff and break both your legs and an arm.

So good to see Sam back in a video! I was missing his face.

that mini heart attack on seeing the mouse and it's baby - omg so glad it was still alive phew animal lover at heart and have saved numerous mice from my cats over the years. amazed it didn't die from the shock/noise of the mill!
otherwise; can't wait to see the projects you come up with for these slabs + what you do with those cookie off-cuts!

Ahhh... Sunday morning! Coffee, John and a laugh. Thanks! By the way... if you're taking votes... I vote you get that big COE truck that used to put explosives in ditches. How could you find a truck more perfect for you? Restore that thing, have your business put on in by a vintage sign painter... It's 100% you!

@ronm4568 4 years ago

Good to see Sam. He was absent from videos for a while.

@toddmoyer7968 4 years ago

Go for that Mack truck, that was unique and massively cool!!!

I first found your channel through other woodworking channels, then heard a n@t then a dahn, then yinz and realized I came to the right place.

Mulberry is in the fig family, Moraceae. Mostly they are considered weed trees and it is unusual to see one that big. The burl was awesome.

@FeMelch 4 years ago

SAM!! We’ve missed you!

@MrCoolAttitude 4 years ago

I can't wait few years from now when we will finally see some of these slabs in action.

@rulane 4 years ago

mulberry changes color as it is exposed to the atmosphere, pretty cool

I make jewelry boxes and this would make a beautiful one!

@ga5743 4 years ago

Wow that was some lucky mouse. Beautiful wood.

I’ve just watched every video and your sawmill playlist after first watching this video. This video was made two years ago and no more sawmill videos have been made sense? I found them fascinating and very interesting to watch. Please make more!
