The  Tamil Tigers surrendered to government forces at the close of Sri Lanka’s civil war in 2009. Ananthy’s husband, EIilan, was one of them. He was never seen again.

After more than 10 years of searching for him, Ananthy decides to run in parliamentary elections on a platform of accountability for war crimes.

She makes a plea at the UN and pushes for an international tribunal. But answers remain elusive.

Ananthy stands fearless in her bid to find out  what happened to her husband and thousands of others who went missing.  Sri Lanka's Rebel Wife by Kannan Arunasalam.

Great documentation. One of the unpunished, unnoticed large scale war crimes in recent times. It's a shame on humanity that these war crimes and the criminals are still unpunished. At least aljazeera has the courage to document it. Thank you Qatar.

All the way from East Africa, I grew up admiring the courage of Prabakharan. A man who took the initiative to fight for the right and recognition of his Tamil people. I am sad about how justice is applied selectively, right now the Rajapaskas and their allies should have been indicted for crimes against humanity

i am a sinhalese and still this broght tears to me , my father was killed by tamils rebels during bombings.but still he is someone who belived in equlity among all ethnicities.May those who suffered from the wat be companstaed.

Sad to see what happened to my people. My father and sister were killed during 83 rights by sinhalese. They may escape from the system but they cannot escape from God.

I sympathise with the Tamils at the cost of being hated by my own race, simply because I feel it is moral to seek for justice.

As a Tamil born and raised in Germany, it's tragic, but also educational to learn about the atrocities that were done to my people. I am not trying to downplay the terrorism, but you also need to understand why people even feel like they need to take up arms. Easy to just brush it under rug and act like it never happened.

அனைவரும் ஒரு நாள் மரணத்தை எதிர் கொள்வோம் அப்பொழுது ஆண்டியும் சரி அரசணும் சரி பதில் கூறவேண்டும் ஆண்டவன் இடத்தில்... அவன் எந்த இனம், மொழி, மதம் என்ற பாகுபடு பார்க்கமாட்டான் அவன் இடத்தில்.. பல்லாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளாக உயிரிப்புடன் வாழ்ந்த எம் தமிழ் என்றும் மறையப்போவது இல்லை... அதே போல் நீதியும்

I have loved both a Tamil man and Sri Lankan man in my life. They are both wonderful people. It makes me sad that these people/tribes are against each other.

What about surrendered people,and Tigers! This woman Mrs. Aananthy is struggling with the government of Sri Lanka for the past 15 years. She went to UNO and readout her grievances there.but no good answer sofar. It is very very sad!
