Pot definitely has a lot going for it. I think the pace at which it’s progressing is what’s upsetting people the most recently. Excited to see how it looks 5 years down the road.

I’d definitely still recommend the game to people because there is something for everyone as long as community exists. Fixing officials should be a high priority though

Honestly I like all three of the big dino games, POT, The Isle (Evrima) and Beasts of Bermuda, but I like them for different reasons.

The isle has immersion down to a letter, you have so many little details that make it feel real even if so much about it is unrealistic or even unfair. Pvp sucks in the isle, but the sandbox is great. It also imo has the least toxic community since global chat is disabled, so noone is able to shit-talk.

POT runs significantly better, has better playable diversity, PVP is also much much better and on the whole is much easier to pick up and play for newer players to the genre, I also think quests help a lot for players who need some objective to stay motivated. With that said I dont like how the quest system is implimented. Pick up 30 pinecones isnt exactly immersive and that makes immersion the biggest weakness of PoT. I fundamentally believe this is why the Isle and PoT have such a huge 50/50 split.

BoB has the most arcadey feel but also imo has the most replayability with the different builds, playstyles and a fairly wide roster (about half of PoT), but also has a lot of mechanics to shake up moment to moment gameplay, such as wildfires, floods, droughts and storms that force you to adapt. Bob suffers from having a smaller playerbase and a pretty toxic community, but mixpackers and overpackers are not a problem here.

I've been dreaming of a game like PoT since I was a kid, and I could not be more pleased that it exists. I know it's in a bit of a chaos state right now as it's trying to wear a bunch of hats while also overcoming a lot of technical challenges. But I don't really mind it. Even when things move in a way I don't love, I trust that eventually it will be what I dream.

One thing i've been excited for is the idea of modders being able to create modpacks that players can load onto their computer, then invite their friends to play it. With AI dinos, that means someone could create a small story mode, or campaign for a group of friends to play in a local host. And I could still get my "Dino-kill, dino-smash" fix in gamemodes like King of the Hill. Officials style gameplay will still exist for those who love that part of the game. Good things are coming!

in short, yes!! All people have to do is avoid the official server with all its toxicity and join a community server that vibes with the way you wanna play the game (PvE, PvP, roleplaying, realism, etc). I know there are community servers out there that do the Realism, where you're only allowed to use body language and vocals to communicate with each other with rules on mega/mix-packing and kos etc. I tend to play semi-realism servers. You just have to browse around and find the niche that fits you instead of just giving up on the game entirely because its not being made the way YOU want it to be made. The devs are trying to please too many people and when they fix one thing, another group of people just complain

Excellent video! 😊

The biggest Con in Pot is the discord community that community is more Toxic then the COD community and thats saying  a lot . i had over 2500 hours in pot stopped playing about a year ago because the debuff that effected solo players but benefitted the megas packs was just too much

Great in depth video! I think the game has really good potential but unfortunately quite a few things are holding it back. I love how you mentioned the nostalgia of old builds or how the game used to be. I miss Path of Titans about 2 years ago with Charge bite spino, land speed builds, traction, better turning , charge bite sarco, defense builds. Man, the game was so so fun and interesting back then

Been playing again recently and it's still super fun. I'm on console on officials and mixoacks don't seem to be as big a thing as they are on PC.

3:07 Why I’m a Flyer main. I just like Exploring.
The games kinda Cozy to me. 😆

PoT is trying to be three different genres at the same time and in my opinion they don't mix well.
Fighting game. Survival game. Rpg game.
I would prefer if it was just a survival game and dropped the fantasy abilities, buffs, and questing. I'm on console so I can't play the isle.

The game is really good but the problem is the mixpackers and the megapackers in Official who can be EXTREMELY annoying, but overall the game is amazing and i recommend it

You forgot survival (official Mode) has passive growth and Perma Death

good video, very direct and no holding back to point out what it need be said.

I wish you would say what you mean when you say mix pack. In POT I only call it mix packing if they are mixed diets otherwise the game wants you to pack up with different Dino’s of the same diet

IMO it’s not a finished game yet.

It needs more aquatic payables to fill oceans:

It needs more ability to expand and grow your dinosaur beyond reaching adult. Say you reach 50,000 marks, you grow to Ancient size for example.

Also some mechanisms to stop mega packing like more rapid food drain as proximity to dinosaurs increases beyond your group size.

Just started playing 2 weeks ago. Been fun so far

Hey are here any former xbox players? I cannot play the offical servers for some reason. Could somebody please help me!

Another upload :D

100% worth it.
My favorite dinosaur game

The problem is that 90% of players are killers. Me as a solo player it's not fun and frustrating when most every fight is 2,3 again me
