Glad Nicole got her credit and thank you for including the Marvel Screenwriters program in this.

Guardians Of The Galaxy was probably the biggest surprise for the MCU when it first came out. They were not that well known, but it was still Marvel, so everyone wanted to see it, and so many people enjoyed it

I didn't know that Nicole Perlman had to fight for credits on this. Thank you for making this video.

This is a great story, I'm glad Nichole got writing credit on the film!

2014: LOL A Talking Racoon XD

2023:…oh

EDIT: I Made That Comment Because Of Back Then People Thought a Talking Racoon Was Odd By MCU Standard, This Before Vol 3 Gave Him One Of The Most Tragic Backstory in the MCU.

If you work on the movie, you deserve to be credited. Perlman asking to be credited is not unreasonable. Even if the script differed drastically by the end, she still created a script that evolved into the final version. She deserved the credit.

I also think actors should be credited even if they only appear in photos, archive footage, or post-credit scenes.

Fun Fact: Adam Sandler, David Tennant, Sharlto Copley, Jim Carrey, Wagner Moura and H. Jon Benjamin were all considered to voice Rocket Raccoon.

I’m glad Nicole got her credit because it seems like at least HALF of this trilogy’s soul came from her

Come on, Gunn… If you’re going to use the skeleton of something but recreate it with new words and themes, you still need to credit the creator of that skeleton.

James Gunn making part 2 about “ego” is very fitting

I like how Zachary Levi is always ALMOST in these huge franchises and roles but just keeps missing them 😂

Can't believe how this Guardians of the Galaxy would've been looked if this cast was in this film instead of the original ones

She totally deserved her credits. And though I had my doubts about the movie, I eventually loved the trilogy. Also Amanda as Gamora also could've been great

As a cinemaphile, these kind 'what if' movies are such a gem in a the current state of movies and TV. Often validating alternate ways you'd like the film to go orrrrr appreciate it never did, its so gooddddd

I remember hearing that Star Lord wasn't Chris Pratt's first Marvel audition. I heard that he once tried to go for Captain America before Kevin Feige called Chris Evans and urged him to take the role. I also remember hearing that John Krasinski was in the running for Star Lord after he was passed for being Captain America after he saw Chris Hemsworth shirtless and realized at the time that he wasn't ready to compete with him.

Bro been feeding us lately.. keep up the good work!

It sounds like even the MCU itself forgot that Zachary Levi was already in the MCU.

Glen Howerton as Star lord would’ve been a fascinating timeline

According to the late, great screenwriter William Goldman, the initial writer of   adapted material is suppose to get a screenwriting credit per WGA rules.  This is because the guild believes that all the writers hired are working off the same material (like say from a book) but the initial writer is the first one to do so so they get top credit.

And if the initial writer is a successful, big wig scribe like Robert Towne or David Koepp, they might go into WGA arbitration and receive  a sole writing credit.

I believe I got this tidbit from Goldman's first book Adventures in the Screenwriting Trade.  And it's why Goldman is credited for writing All The President's Men even though his script was completely rewritten by other writers.

Guardians was the first Marvel film i was excited for. I wasn't into superheroes at the time and more of a Star Wars fan so Guardians was the perfect gateway into the MCU for me
