I wanted Pixel to have a real personality, complete with an expressive touchscreen face, real-time vision, and the ability to interact dynamically. To hit that $50 budget without sacrificing processing power, we skipped the pricey Raspberry Pi 5 and underpowered Arduinos. Instead, we are building around the incredibly efficient XIAO ESP32-S3.
