A 6.5 Creedmoor can kill an elk, yes. But take something that will humanely kill from any reasonable angle even though bone if necessary. My vote is still the 35 Whelen.
I have no interest in 6.5 creedmoor, but I have a ton of interest in seeing a savage axis go elk hunting. About the cheapest rifle you can buy putting in work makes my heart happy
If I had to decide between the two rifles and which one to take I would take the Savage. The weight of the rifle alone makes the decision for me. I'm too old for 17 lbs of rifle that's for sure. Hopefully you'll have enough time to give us another sight in video with the Savage Axis if you decide to go that route. You're right this was a fun video. That was some good shooting. Great groupings.
