I have a low-stake conspiracy theory that says HandheldBoar is actually just Regular Pat in a different save file.

The Roxas boss fight is my favorite video game boss of all time. The story, emotion and cool factors all converge into a pure cinematic experience

IMO, a very underrated boss fight is Aqua's fight against Dragon Maleficent in BBS. You get to fight alongside Prince Phillip and you actually have to rely on him to protect you from Maleficent's fire with his shield.

Back when CoM first released on GBA, I certainly had to play strategically to beat Ansem at the end of Riku’s story. I actually ended up cheesing the fight by beating him in a battle of attrition. Since bosses were limited by the same detrimental mechanic of losing the first card used in a combo, I just kept dodging his attacks while using my few 0 cards to automatically break his combos and slowly shave off cards from his deck until he essentially didn’t have a deck left.

18:45 “He will combo you into Oblivion” probably using Oathkeeper

Marluxia fights have always been some of my favorites purely because of how he's always got a banger theme

My favorite KH boss fight (and my favorite videogame boss fight of all time) is undoubtedly Yozora. Not only because Yozora is badass as fuck and I love his abilities. But the music, the enigmatic nature of the encounter, the sheer complexity and variety of moves he has and how precise you gotta be to beat him just to name a few things made it my favorite OAT. I'm literally addicted to that boss fight

Fun fact about the oogie boogie fight: if you have high jump, then genie's magic attacks will be able to hit him whilst he's out of reach. If youve got a big mp bar thanks to something like spellbinder, genie can take out most of oogie's hp before the first chance to raise the platform

I think my favourite boss in the franchise will always be twilight thorn. It blew me away as a kid, from the music to the dynamic reaction commands

Boss fights are why I keep coming back to kh, fighting those kh2 data fights as kid will forever be an important memory (especially marluxia for some reason)

From what I can tell Clouds KH1 outfit is based on the one worn by Vincent Valentine.

The thing I love about Chernobog is that he just looks like a big bad heartless. When I first played I had no idea he was a Disney character, but just an another pure heartless like Darkside. For years I believed he was simply peak heartless design

Kind of shocked Re:Coded wasn't Sora's Heartless

As someone who played all the mobile games, especially Union enough so that I had unlocked Starlight before playing KH3, the demon tide fight was something really special. It felt like an acknowledgment, almost an apology.

My first kingdom hearts game was 365/2 on the ds and i loved it.

"Where's our 'Kingdom Hearts' dating sim?"

....questions I've been asking since I first played on a lonely PS2 so long ago.

You mentioned phantom aqua but didn't say anything about zodiac phantom aqua, which is my favorite boss fight in gaming. It was the first taste of the boss design that would be the remind data battles, which are fights that top all boss fights in the series for me. The amount of tech you learn, pushing the games mechanics is on another level. The progression of being rocked by a boss fight that feels near impossible, to learning the patterns and barely defeating them to REALLY learning the patterns and absolutely stomping them is a high I haven't gotten from other games, even fromsoft games.

Great list of the best bosses in each game, Man some of these bosses are quite challenging or have an amazing design even having an incredible soundtrack.

Lord of the Castle is definitely my favorite OST of the KH series! It's a shame it sort of gets ignored by fans, as I feel the actual fight can be distracting, so close to the end of the game (for Sora's story, at least).

I also think as far as Organization is concerned, there could have been some interesting changes, such as maybe Zexion's plots against Riku being linked more towards DiZ than Riku himself, or rearranging to have Luxord as the member running Castle Oblivion, with the card-theme, and, as you said, put Marluxia at Beast's Castle with the flower theme.

5:39 Honestly surprised we didn't get a Randel boss fight, I think he could have absolutely worked as one. Maybe incorporate the doors as part of his fight or something.
