For new writers don't take it personal if another writer is better then you then they will go over you just make sure ya got ya photo and if there in a crew that's well known and been around for 15 20 plus years if not longer then nothing you can do you don't want beef with any big well known crews
The paranoia lmfaoooo when I was a kid, I was walking to my grandparents house and I took some alleys for short cuts. I found a dumpster sitting in front of a garage and I happened to have a sharpie. I wanted to hit it, but I was so afraid someone was going to see and call the cops. I walked up and down the alley like 5 times, looking around like a sketchy fuck. After about a half hour I finally did the tiniest hand style ever (I'm talking like maybe 3 inches, and I didn't use my actual tag name because paranoia) and ran as fast as I could for like a quarter mile all the way to my grandparents house. I didn't go back down that alley for like 2 years 😂😂😂
A tip I feel is necessary to mention here is that no matter how chill the spot is, you are still doing something illegal and you can get pinched at these spots. I had a mate who entered a day spot from the wrong entrance and someone called the cops saying he was dumping a body. The cops were pretty bummed when they just found a dude rocking a piece but they still took him in. So even if the spot is "chill", still keep your wits about you and don't get too comfortable ever because just like anything else in life, you just never know what will happen. Stay safe fellas ❤️
the thing that made me stop being paranoid was this one time i was out tagging with a friend and some guy walks past me spraying so i did what everybody would do i waved at him and he just waved back and smiled at me
I got into graffiti in about 82-83,the whole hip hop culture was starting to spread out to places other than NYC (I was born in DC in 71 & grew up in the DMV) & I couldn’t get enough of it,anyway as I got older I sorta drifted away from it,fwd to about a year ago & my wife & I purchased our 1st house together & in my garage I’m setting up a basic studio & started to get back into it & stickers are pretty much all I do these days for multiple reasons…. You can take your time You’re not really damaging anything You can slap em up so fast most people won’t know what you’re doing You can put them places you’d never be able to tag 🖤🥶 No where near as messy as paint You can carry like 50 of em ready to go & nobody is aware you even have them
There is a writer in my area who seemingly doesn´t give a shit if he crosses someone. And his work isn´t exactly bad but definitly not very good either. He mostly does throwies and tags and it´s not uncommon to see a throw up from him appearing on top of an older piece, not taking the whole area but just the middle and that even though there would have been space where he had not crossed anyone. But no, he crosses people seemingly just because it´s easier, not for beef or anything, just so he doesn´t have to stretch his arm. So recently he crossed some tags from a friend of mine on a train bridge althoug it was 100 percent avoidable. This resulted in my friend crossing nearly every single tag this writer had on that bridge. Will be interesting to see what happens (probably not much as our area is quite rural and the scene isn´t that big).
4:04 I was returning from a stroll in the middle of the night and 3 minutes after I came home my doorbell rang. I F-R-E-A-K-E-D the phucc out. It just was my brother who happened to be around randomly.
I’ll never engage with beef unless I’m trying to squash it. Generally crews aren’t out to cap small writers it just happens like u said. I’ll leave a message next to the cap complimenting their work and maybe try to arrange some sort of meet up to say hello and try to make some friends. We’re all in this together and we all are doing the same crime so beef is counterintuitive
I recently got caught by coppers for the first time its a terrifying experience imo, i dont know that much abt graff as i have only been doing it for 1year and got caught like 4 times but 1 tip to stay away from coppers is dont do hotspots in day unless your in a busy suburb and dont do chill spots at night cops will be patrolling during night! Stay Safe Yall
