OPEN THROAT Singing Method - How It Really Works - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

Open throat singing technique.

What is it?

Why is it important?

And how do we get it?

Hi guys,

In this video I cover the importance of learning how to sing with an open throat.

How not to choke off, pinch and squeeze those notes (especially the high ones) when singing.

I also wanted to correct some information floating around on youtube.

I hope you find this video useful.

And there he is, Ken Tamplin himself, obliterating all other vocal coaches. It kinda makes me chuckle when other vocal coaches on YouTube (with all due respect which they certainly deserve) just do a 3 minutes long video with a few of scales on a piano, and basically say "there, that's it, now you can sing." While Ken gives you 30 minutes of vocal wisdom for free, and still doesn't forget to stress that you can't learn to sing over night. We are blessed to have you, Ken!

Seem like this guy really wants to help people do their best work.......

I would expect this kind of video in a paid course on masterclass.
Glad we get it for free.

Ken should be declared a world heritage property, he shouldn't allowed be age so that he continues to shower his vocal wisdom for ages to come. Thanks bro, you're a true treasure...

I guess there's not one singer with a good voice on Earth who could learn to sing within a week. But Ken's Academy channel is a huge support for all the singers on the blue planet.

Jesus !!!! I have never thought that someone could sing like all that!!! You aren't from this world guy.

You're totally different from the other vocal couches on youtube. You make all of the hard stuff look so easy, and that's why you deserve more than 1M subs.

Oh my lord you’ve been blessed with so many talents. Not only can you sing but you’re a natural teacher. And you’re successful in every passions you’ve pursued. I wish I can find that in my life.

Holy Shit...this man can sing any freakin way he wants....ANY WAY HE WANTS...so inspiring.

This video is GOLD for any singer that is really paying attention. Ken Tramplin, you are the most amazing vocal coach I have ever heard.

I'm sure it's just because I can't retain information well but the only thing I've learned is what I'm supposed to do but I still don't understand how to do it

If this video doesn't convince students seeking a master to follow you Ken, then they probably don't have a pulse any more and you couldn't help them anyway.

Look around, take a good look around, nobody is teaching this stuff, because to teach this stuff they’d first have to know about it, then to have any professional validity at all, they’d have to completely understand ‘and’ be able to demonstrate it, otherwise they’re just some half-baked vocal instructor playing the $ystem and their hope is you’re the pawn. There’s a ton of ‘them’ out there.

If you’re serious, as in life long serious about learning how to sing correctly, KTVA.

For me its not about the vocal teacher, its about the vocal teachers ability, their ability to understand and their ability to demonstrate this stuff.

I constantly have ppl/singers complementing on how much my singing has improved, ppl who’ve seen/heard me sing over the years, and that’s an honest compliment/observation, its not just another gratis “You sound really good.”

I’ll take credit, I did the work, but its not only me, its me with a KTVA.
I was doing the work bf I found KTVA and I was not getting those kinds of honest compliments, at best it was “I really like the sound of your voice.”

Ppl didn’t notice I could sing bf I got KTVA, its bc I was just ‘trying’ to sing, and trying to be inspired by the occasional 10 cent “you sound real good” compliments. I was walking a dead end, dirt road vocal existence. With KTVA now Im flying.

Again, in your searching around, if you’re able to find a vocal instructor who’s more knowledgeable and actually able to demonstrate their vocal technique at this high, or higher a level, please let me know, bc Im not currently aware of any.

We don't deserve Ken, my singing has improved by hard work and really paying attention to what Ken is saying. Thanks again, Ken. So much truth.

I'm from the Philippines and after spending so many hours finding the right online singing coach that I can really hone my skills with, you're the one I can say is the most legitimate teacher since not only do you demonstrate the techniques, but you do it excellently. You're a blessing to us people who can't afford an actual voice lesson. Thanks for all of this, Ken. You're a real blessing to us all here. Wishing you God's blessings with good health and may you continue sharing this wonderful gift of yours. 💯

When you hit the wall playing an instrument like guitar or piano, adding competent and confident vocals makes music fun again. I wish I found Ken's videos years ago. Finding a new plateau is what it's all about.

This is gold to any singer. Ken, you are the best vocal coach I've ever heard. You have no idea how much grateful we are for your existing!

@MrElkmtngear 10 months ago

2 Videos and I've already gotten rid of my throat issues that pop up in recent rehearsals. Ken, you are a blessing to anyone that needs to resolve vocal issues, or refine their technique!
