Al has been famous for 40+ years and he's the same dorky humble guy that he's always been. He will always bring a smile to my face.

He knows Weird Al's songs so well. He must be a big fan.

@TheRealTiburon 11 months ago

He's outlasted most of the artists he's parodied. 😊

the fact that every time he got one right he would go "yayyyyy" and swing his arms around like a child is hilarious and heartwarming

He is 65 years old...he doesn't look 65 at all

Weird Al should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

My friend in high school who was a HUGE Weird Al fan was in a car accident and was in a coma for the longest time. This was like, 1995/1996, the early days of the internet. We found Al's drummer Bermuda's contact info on some old newsgroup and were able to get in contact with Al and the band. We were hoping he could come visit, which unfortunately never happened, but they ended up sending a ton of signed merchandise and personalized well-wishes. My friend ended up coming out of the coma after almost a month and was so thankful and stoked by what they sent. Al and his entire band are awesome.

I saw Weird Al live, and when they played "Smells Like Nirvana" and he got to, "And I forgot the next verse..." he stopped singing while the whole crowd sang the rest of the verse. It was as epic as it was funny.

One thing I love about Al is that Albuquerque was supposed to be a throwaway that people hated, but once he realized that us true fans love that song, he embraced it. I have stayed in the World Famous Holiday Inn and can confirm the towels were so fluffy.

Anyone who can memorize all the words to Albuquerque, Hardware Store, and Your Horoscope for Today has transcended beyond mortal limits.

I love how each time it's like Al is doing a "dramatic reading" of his own songs.

In the past 6 years, he’s gone on 4 tours, 2 of which exclusively played deep cuts. He’s pretty much performed his entire discography in just the last half decade. I had no doubt he’d ace this.

The man has a genius level intelligence. (He skipped two grades and went to college at 16.) His attention to detail in his videos is legendary. There's no way he'd forget his own lyrics. But you could have challenged him a little more with his lesser known stuff.

The fact that we live in a world where Weird Al can sell out stadiums doing nothing but parodies and dressup, is a world worth loving :)

2:40 he thinks nobody would listen to Albuquerque more than once. lol. I listened to it so many times after getting that album when it first came out that I can still sing Albuquerque word for word 25 years later

He who's tired of Weird Al is tired of life. Long live Al.

What is perhaps more amazing than the fact that Al is still “doing this” is the fact that he still has the same band behind him. Jon “Bermuda” Schwartz has been with him since his recording of “Another Rides the Bus”. Steve Jay joined for the first album. Jim “Kimo” West joined the band for the second album. Keyboardist Ruben Valtierra is the new guy, joining the band in the early 90s.

“At least a decade or so old”
Song is 26 years old

14:13 people who do "funny music" don't last very long, and that's true. They're usually gimmick acts. Al is an incredibly talented songwriter and vocalist, and I don't want to diminish that. But I think what really elevates him is his bandmates, they're all insanely talented musicians. Usually when people think of parodies, they think of crappy bootleg type stuff. But Al's band is so talented that they can completely recreate the songs they're parodying and you won't even be able to tell the difference until you hear the lyrics.

2:45 It's hilarious that he expected Albuquerque to be unpopular because the first thing I did when I got Running With Scissors as a kid was listen to that song over and over again to memorize the lyrics because it's so damned funny.
