This trap has an adapter with a tube to a bottle lid.
You slide the lid back, just uncovering the trap chamber, and the adapter slides in over where you've uncovered.
The trapped mice in that chamber will want to crawl up through the tube, which is more like a Slinky, and fall into a jar screwed onto the other end.
It can work as extra mouse storage, so they don't cannibalize each other while they're all in the chamber, or you can fill it about halfway with water and drown them.
Some manufacturers make a version of this trap that comes with that accessory, but the, "Kness Ketch-all, Made in USA," trap doesn't. So, you have to buy it separately.
But, it's totally worth it.
This is by far the best mouse trap I've ever bought. It catches multiple mice, all by just winding it up one time, and if you don't want to let them all go free somewhere, (don't just bring them to your neighbor's house!!) you can just make the couple more dollar investment and order the bottle tube adapter.
It's the last mouse trap you'll ever have to buy. (Unless you also have a rat problem, in which case you'll need to get another trap for them too.)
I put the trap with the mice in it into the freezer on a board on the lowest shelf. In a few hours, they are frozen solid and you can just dump them out.
We just got a couple and this morning we had a mouse in one and a shrew in the other. There may or may not have been a mouse in with the shrew at some point but we didn't see any sign of carnage - just a really pissed off shrew.
I just purchased one similar, I don't have the heart to kill anything so this is why I wanted a humane trap. However I have a feeling ours is too smart because I heard a loud squeak looked inside through the window this one has and no mouse🐭 🤣 I just hope when it moves they don't get hurt. Putting food in is a great idea at least the little critter has something to eat.
If the knob is a little soft does that mean I can't use the trap anymore? Mine from last year caught a total of around 25. Last mouses tail was caught in the planes levers and I had to shake the machine a little and trigger the trap like if there was another mouse entering the trap to release that mouse. Another trap that accompanies this trap lil' Pete caught others total of three. I may have to get another one ketch all to replace the one I have. I may have overused the present one.
If you release live animals in someone else’s home out of spite well that makes you a giant asshole. You have to check this trap freq as mice dehydrate quickly so humanely do that please and take up to 2 miles away for release.
