Even as a passionate Queenslander I always rated Rod Wishart. Nice to see he's such a good bloke.

Loved watching Whishart play. Gentleman as well.

I was a big fan of his. Hard running. 100% effort from him, every game. Great winger .

That Blacklock try in that 99 Gf has got to be the best offensive try scored ever.

Gee what a champion guy.

played the game like Eric Grothe...hard, fast and without fear. Not many players got you off your seat when they touched the ball. He was one of them. Hasn't aged a bit. Thank you for the memories.

Always thought he was a very good player, but his games for Australia in the test matches changed my mind. He is a great player.

Champion. What a legend of a fella he seems too.

Thanks for taking the kicking in 1995, Rod. Appreciate it!

And they did you dirty playing the Martin Lang chase THREE times!! Wow, he is fast, but how fast is Matty Sing. Woweee!

Great player and top bloke. Met him twice, such a humble gentleman. Great memories, bring back the Steelers 🟥⬜️🟥⬜️🟥

And even had a shout out to Ross Conlon which I love. Those were the best days of league back then

Joey used to do that most of the time anyway 😂 funny little banter from Billy

I copied Rods place kicking technique at 10 years old and wore his ASICS. Represented it in NZ haha

What an awesome player he was and so humble too

He is legend. Would do the school visits and coaching, we’d all be in awe - our local Steeler, Blues and Kangaroos star at our school. Tragedy the Steelers were taken away - thanks Murdoch and Packer.

In 45yrs of passionately following the game, Rod Wishart is the giant among giants of the game that I followed . Topped by seeing him live in an origin game at Lang Park in the early 90s we won…
