"lets pixelate the shit, but only some of it."

i cant believe jamie said "the first poo rocket coming out of mythbusters" with a straight face. impressive honestly

I'm guessing that the explosion of the glass container at 8:06 is because they were expecting it to be a borosilicate Pyrex dish and they didn't know at the time about the fact that 21st century Pyrex in the USA is soda-lime glass instead, a cheaper material that supposedly has more mechanical strength but crucially can't stand the thermal shocks that Pyrex used to be the king for.

I loved that Mad Max style intro. They should have used that every week, with Jamie bringing a bag of something relating to that week's myths.

This won't be the last time the Friends of Amateur Rocketry range gets to see weird stuff get flung into the air at ridiculous speed.
Considering this is the home range for both Xyla Foxlin and Joe Barnard the weirdness quotient these people are used to must be off the charts by now.

Ok, that last launch attempt... anyone else think of kerbal space program. just. the parachute popping out.

Shipping powdered poop  propellant , it's the one porch pirated package you could laugh off..

The genuine fear when the glass bowl shattered at 8:25

I just realized how MB existed during one of the biggest tech spurs we had. When it begun we were still on CDs and CRTs, there were no smartphones or mass accessible broadband.

5:47 the sign on the top of the freezer that was being covered by all the things using it as a shelf says "This is not a shelf" 🤣

The liquid oxygen is obviously super cold, blasting that through such a small engine might be the issue. Some sort of solid oxidiser should solve the problem.

The sequence from 22:30 is incredible comedic content

Twenty three minutes in - that actually happened on one of the Mercury test launches back in the late fifties/early sixties! I laughed my ass off! All that anticipation and the recovery system just goes pop!! Great stuff, who doesn't love 'Rocket Science'?

That last rocket is da sh.t!

"You might want to put down your snacks."

Naahh thx I keep eating 😂

Yeah that hybrid rocket had some valve issues.

8:07 got me good 😬

The obvious thing to do with poo in space is to compost it, use the methane for fuel and use what's left of grow food.

Gummy bears can absolutely be used as fuel. The real challenge is managing the correct fuel-to-oxidizer ratio.

When making model rockets, we typically use a solid rocket motor — meaning no liquid oxygen or complicated plumbing.
The usual setup uses caster sugar, white sugar, or icing sugar as the fuel, and potassium nitrate (commonly found in tree stump remover) as the oxidizer.

The basic mix is around a 4:1 ratio — four parts fuel to one part oxidizer.
Once mixed, compact the material into a grain shape. You can use a hammer, template, or mold to really pack it in tightly.

Important:
Make sure the grain has a nice hollow “O” shape — either form it with an insert or drill it out afterward. Insert your igniter into this hollow core.

Results:
You’ll get a simple, effective solid rocket motor.
