Not often you see a physical manifestation of SPIware.

Imagine your wallet hops out of your pocket and just walks to the guy mugging you

Not to endorse this, but I think it's a really cool attack from a technical standpoint

Stuff like this is just one of the reasons why crypto will never go mainstream. Imagine your grandma has to be up-to-date on stuff like this. Your bank can almost always reverse and trace these fraud transactions.

Imagine buying a wallet that randomly deploys wheels and drives itself out the front door one night 😂

Im an electrical engineer and have been involved in secure product design, what the hell?
these things should be potted in resin with an embedded tamper detection flatflex that blows a hardware fuse and permanantly warns the user, not foolproof but it works well for PoS. This is an annoying thing to tool but not difficult.

most legit cryptocurrency project

People tend to forget that back in 2013 it was revealed that the NSA was intercepting computer orders and inserting spy chips.

paws at 4g modem in an offline device

In Brasil, we say something along the lines of: "if it's free, the product is probably you."

But damn, here you pay to be stolen😂

i love entrusting 3rd party humans with my critical data

lol now i have to open every device i buy to know if its wiretapped. we can't have nice things.

paws at supply chain attack

after the first ledger leak (2020), anyone who still trusted them deserve what happens. i threw mine away in 2021.

It was just a matter of time before someone sucessfully compromized the actual physical devices...

Opened website and got instantly blocked by CF lmao

Multisig is getting even more important.  Chances of suffering from a direct supply chain attack like this goes down massively if you have at least 2 different wallets required.

Get an old laptop that is older than bitcoin. Generate a paper wallet and calculate a bunch of receive addresses offline. Boom,  you now have an ACTUAL cold wallet. Don't re-use the receive addresses. If you ever need more,  fire up the old laptop and generate some more. But you should be able to print out sheets of them so you never have to do that again.

an old laptop without internet access, a piece of paper or even a encrypted file on a flash drives (multiple for redundancy). never understood why use a ledger and depending on some third party software.

if you can trust text showing up on your pc one time to write it down or transfer it off, you are doomed anyway.

Israeli pager supply chain attack is more outrageous, IMO.
