It's sad to see Amelia Earhart's flight end the way it did. She was such a talented and gifted aviator.

In 1964, my ship was patrolling the Caroline Island group south of Guam. As we patrolled, we received a radio call from a woman flying an attempt to recreate Amelia's flight. That was a bit sobering to think back on these tragic events.

That scan turned out to be a rock formation, the area the plane went down is very flat for hundreds of miles, the dept is around 17000ft.

My wife's uncle Walter Grieben gave Ameila Earhart her last haircut before her flight. He had a barbershop in the Oakland Tribune lobby.

Why would they need to bring it to the surface?

To me the sunken aircraft looks like a swept-wing jet, maybe an F-86 Sabre.

The Earhart hunter needs to rent a deep sea drone, which I think "only" cost about $1,500/wk.  He should have done that before making his announcement.

Don't even compare the amazing Amelia Earhart with Taylor Swift.

Comparing Earhart's popularity on an international/national level to Taylor Swift is nothing but a vivid way to explain the fascination Earhart enjoyed. My mother, born in 1930, spoke of her with admiration. Totally understandable considering boundaries to span at that time.

Comparing Amelia Earhart to Taylor Swift is an insult, beyond all insults.  Who ever said that made a grevious error.  Amelia way on top, and Taylor somewhere down, far below.

So they know where it is.   So since January have they done any further investigating at this location?  Is it her plane or not?    Seems we would have an answer after 6 months ???

Taylor Swift being compared to Amelia 😂😂😂 I'm sure Amelia didn't date losers after loser and then make a career off of breaking up with them. I'm sure Amelia didn't use her body sexually to advance in her field of expertise. I'm sure Amelia's awards were earned through actual hard work and dedication to somehting that can change the world. Only one of these women changed HISTORY!
