Yoongi wrote this song for a childhood/adolescent friend. His friend went down the wrong path and ended up in prison. Yoongi tried to help him and gave him advice. When his friend got out of jail, he offered Yoongi d r u g s, which Yoongi refused. The friend showed he hadn't changed, and Yoongi let him go. Yoongi said that he lost contact due to his hard work as a trainee and then with his busy schedule as an idol. In the end, his friend sank into darkness, while Yoongi basked in the glare of stardom.

Along with all the other comments, Yoongi also knew, that night, he would not be seeing Army again like this for a long time - the emotions that had been coursing through him for weeks, months...years even, came spilling out...the very next day the 'hello, this is BigHit' announcement dropped about his enlistment.

Oh, the feels. Between Yoongi breaking down and ARMY singing strong to support him. The sobs at the end too... The song

This wasn't the only song that night that he broke down during. The last few songs really got to him. I recommend checking out the official concert footage or other fans cams from the other songs and angles.

Oh Luke. Seeing your face when Yoongi started crying set me off too. Its such a heartbreaking, powerful, vulnerable song and ARMY stood with him the whole way. 🥺💜

Poor Suga cried for 3 songs, very emotional that final day. Love him. Thanks for reacting 💜

Such a moving performance, Suga is so lovely.

😭 😭😭 He fought so hard through it all to keep singing 💜

Even his best friend who was the DJ at this performance said it was the first time he saw suga cry

The first time that I saw this concert I, who have always needed to be so strong for others, totally broke down and cried along with Yoongi

This song is not from the fan camera, but from the official concert video. There will be a close-up. This song is about his friend's fate, and how Shuga tried to help him, but... And also..  [HD] Life Goes On - SUGA | Agust D TOUR 'D-DAY' in JAPAN - Be sure to check out this live performance! Suga's amazing vocals, piano performance, and amazing song! It's a bomb! You will have a great time and will be amazed! Thank you for your reactions! I always watch them! You are one of my favorite reactors!

This performance breaks me every time! I don't remember if he did this one first or second, but back-to-back he performed Dear My Friend and Snooze, both very emotional songs, and Yoongi just lost it and broke down. 😭

You need to watch the full concert. The second half of the concert was insanely emotional. I still can't watch it without crying. He started crying during Snooze (the song before Dear my friend) and cried trough the next few songs.

My Suga absolutely beautiful, my men😢😢😢, I love you Yoongi, I love you army💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I love what you say here 6:12 "Suga is one of the most emotionally strong members of BTS, until he isn't". It's so true, because we all have our limits. And coincidentally, some members also said he was the strongest. But many times he let his guard down and we get see another beautiful side of him, like here while being so vulnerable. Showing that side is also a sign of strength.

Ah our yoongi 🫶🏻

Later Yoongi said that he regretted that he was an ugly cryer, or words to that effect. He cried through a few songs that concert. The last concert of his World Tour before he had to start his hiatus in the SK army.
You should also watch his Amygdala performance from that night.

When this video came out, I cried my eyes out. The connection between him and Army is something else.💔💜

Suga's concert tour ended with 3 shows in Seoul. At all 3 there were surprise guests:
Day 1: guest: JK, duet song Burn It
Day 2: guest, Jimin: duet song Tony Montana
Day 3: guest: RM: duet song Strange
(As ARMYs pointed out, the song's initials are: B T S! I don't think they planned it. I mean that would be pretty astonishing if they did.)
Each guest also did a song of their own (this is when RM introduced the first song of RPWP album which was not out at that time).
Day 3: J-hope and Jin got leave to come to the show (they were in the military but came in civilian clothes), and when Suga thanked J-hope for helping on the choreography, he had the camera focus on them both in the crowd--it's a wonder the roof did not blow off the arena. The concert was being broadcast on Weverse, so folks all over the world went nuts. THIS is the setting in which he sang Snooze and then Dear My Friend. We did not realize Bighit was going to announce his military enlistment right after this. So that was even more emotion for him that we weren't aware of. One observation: when he is sobbing, he also is just banging on that guitar, making chord changes accurately. The man is a musician down to his soul. The deep guttural "oh-oh-oohh-oh" at the very end is so powerful. He models for us that there are ways to survive pain, to get to the other side. On that night, singing, rapping, playing instruments, and wailing with thousands of your friends and supporters, was his way through it.
Then, as other commenters have mentioned, unlike at any of the other concerts, when he leaves at the end there was a white door behind him (similar to in the Amygdala video) and this time, symbolically, he waves, opens the door, and walks through. I don't have words for the emotions then. Min Yoongi has faced and exorcised his demons. He can go on and be joyous and love his life and his music.
There are clips of all of these moments online, you might want to watch the 3 duet performances.
Other suggestions:
Have you ever reacted to "Travel with Me", a partial song by V? He never released it but he recorded himself singing it while driving by the beach in Hawaii.
Any clips from J-hope's or Jin's concerts: all great. Bangtan TV just released a clip of Jin's concert performance of "The Astronaut"...any clips of him and members as surprise guests at Jin's and J-hope's final concerts...
Any clips from RM's concert at Rolling Hall in Seoul (late 2022?), venue only held 200 people. "Wildflower" is amazing as always, so is "Closer" with Paul Blanco.
Lastly, if you want to see the post-military Yoongi looking VERY HEALED, watch his speech (videotaped) at the band concert Dec. 9th, 2025, for the MIND program, which he helped fund and  where (in secret, during weekends for some months during his military service), actually was a music teacher for autistic kids. Borahae!
