For those unaware (because I didnt know until recently): 1. Most essential oils are dangerous to consume  - 2. Rubbing essential oils directly on your skin can cause severe inflammation and rashes - 3. When not filtered properly, essential oils can contain lead and other heavy metals which are dangerous even in small amounts - 4. essential oils are completely unregulated in the US, just because something smells like the thing its supposed to smell like doesnt mean it has any of that in it, you should take extreme caution when buying essential oils. 5. Essential oils DO expire!

this brought back memories from when my mom was OBSESSED with oils years ago. she would try and slip oils into my food, and run oil diffusers in my room when I wasn’t home, so I’d come home to my room smelling like spices from the thieves oil. I’d get a cut or a burn and she’d tell me to just “put lavender on it” even though it didn’t help, and they all gave me horrible migraines. I had to go to her oil parties, and she had me follow her social medias which were all some variation of “oily mom” which is still hilarious to me. 😭
