মেয়েটি ২০ বছর ধরে CIA এর ভেতরে স্পাইং করেছে | The Most Dangerous Spy in US Intelligence History

Ana Belén Montes was a senior intelligence analyst at the Defense Intelligence Agency who secretly worked as a spy for Cuba. Born in 1957 in Germany to a Puerto Rican family, she joined the DIA in the 1980s and became one of the U.S. government’s top experts on Cuba. However, she had been secretly recruited by Cuban intelligence and passed highly classified U.S. military information to Havana for years. Montes communicated with Cuban handlers using coded messages and public payphones to avoid detection. Because of her access to sensitive intelligence, she caused serious damage to U.S. national security. In September 2001, just days after the September 11 attacks, the FBI arrested her for espionage. She later pleaded guilty in court to spying for Cuba. Montes said she acted out of ideological sympathy for Cuba’s government. In 2002 she was sentenced to 25 years in prison. She was released from federal prison in 2023 after serving more than two decades.
