This movie put me on the same level of uncomfortability as Hereditary and Parasite. They are all soooo good.

Barry Keoghan was perfect in this role. Playing something of a detached demigod while remaining grounded and not over doing it.

Why did it have to be Bob.
He was the only one that didn't make me feel uneasy or want to smash my screen.

Yorgos is a fukin genius

I wish you touched more on Bob, he seemed like the innocent one that died among the family

Never before a film left me with so many questions and scratching my head.

At first, I thought “Who talks to each other like this?!” But then it becomes subversive, and somewhere along the way, I accepted that this is its own world where people behave like there is nothing below surface level, but Martin came and completely disrupted the charade. My second time watching, I could really appreciate the impressive performance given by Barry Keoghan. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a character like Martin portrayed on the screen.

I was worried this was basically an EXPLAINED video. It wasn't. It was very good.

Its strange. I love George in Dunkirk and fucking hate Martin. Damn good actor

man.... i watched this video while on vacation with some of my best friends and the amount of stress it caused me before i slept was unreal. i don't really love "scary" movies very much but this one was a real exception. I was so captivated by martin and how "mechanical" everyone acted. it's like my brain was trying to search for emotion but it just couldn't find it. such a weird phenomenon but god damn it worked well

Great analysis!  Great movie!  Creepy!  A24 is killing it lately!  One brilliant film after another!

Did the surgeon know the entire time that he had to kill one of his family members? Is that why he tried to buddy up with the kid? To try to avoid his grim fate of murdering his own son?

This is the best breakdown of this film. Not too long, but covers the important aspects. Good work.

Really love this analysis! I think this would be my go-to example of a movie that I hated watching but that I admire the hell out of artistically. I couldn’t stand how empty it made me feel but it’s really perfectly crafted.

Barry's mannerisms in this film are so convincing, i truly feel like im watching a 16 year old american kid.

Are we all just going to ignore the secret he told his son. I really hope they didn't actually tell that kid that. Did an edit or something to make it look like he was talking to him but he really wasn't 🤔

The killing of a sacred deer is a horror MASTERPIECE

I have no doubt that this will be a cult classic someday

This made HBOs "The Outsider" feel like a Disney film.

I love this movie! It didnt just retell the story of iphigenia, it took the moral ambiguity of Greek tragedy and told this story. In the greek theatre in athens in 500bc, Agememnon killing his daughter leads to the beginning of the "Orestia" trilogy which leads to several other deaths and attempts at justice which are finally resolved in a court scene with a democratic vote.
