although he didn't know slayer, crushing 2 beers in the parking lot before ripping through it was probably the most slayer thing he could've done XD

I can't name a single Jelly Roll song, I've never heard of Cody, I'm a full on metal head and I can honestly say he CRUSHED this. Dude did so much better than I anticipated!!

Jerry Roll is like Adele for dudes with a forklift license

Cody wearing a shirt with an upside down cross on it while unknowingly playing Slayer is *chefs kiss*

Being a lifelong Slayer fan, bro absolutely killed it. I'm convinced that drumming has a universal language from these videos. Some of the fills and rests are too spot on in certain sections. Crazy

@MyBrainFeelsBroken 1 year ago

Cody, you're not gonna piss anyone off. All we care about is that you actually tried, and took the challenge seriously. You killed it.

Has Dave Lombardo ever been in drumeo? That would be 🤘🏽

The fact that he dressed exactly like Jeff Hannemann with upside down cross on his chest and didn’t know Slayer is hilarious

I can honestly say that I wasn’t ready for the talent he showed

This drummer has the rare ability of finding that sweet spot of simplicity to support the song and then just throw it off a bridge when the emotions calls for it. One of the best episodes to me. Not because of the entertainment factor, but rather the musical quality. I have no idea what Jerry Roll is, but they have hell of a drummer.

Fun fact, when we were like 12 years old this guy puked on our living room floor and on the tv remote on my dad's birthday. Hope you're well Cody.

Lifelong Slayer fan here. I wasn't ready for how good this actually was. This guy is a top musician, he played with simplicity and to the point, added a few things here and there and absolutely SMASHED it. Super talented dude.

Lifelong Slayer fan here..... i dont care who you are or what music you play, if you even attempt to play this music, i tip my cap to ya for just trying. Well done.

this is unbelievable, dude is absolutely locked in. zero promise, 100% delivery

@Magnastroyer 1 year ago

"I'm gonna piss off so many metalheads", then proceeds to absolutely kill it! He absolutely felt the vibe and delivered.

There might be some gatekeeping, purist metalheads who get weirdly upset when people aren't into the same stuff they are, but most metalheads I know are just the most welcoming, "gates wide open", compassionate people I know. I think it's always a thrill to see someone get the adrenaline rush when a metal song clicks for a new listener!

Bro put his entire being into that final take and made something TASTY. Cody’s level of skill and intuitive groove is wildly impressive!

A fricking legit take by this dude. Lombardo is a legend for a reason, but doing this after first time hearing it and with just a handful of takes (and a couple of beers) is insane work. My guy gives very laid back vibes, but he's a true pro.
