Tom Hanks, in the movie Philadelphia, is probably the standout from this impressive list for me. This may well be due to my involvement in the world of HIV/AIDS.  I think the movie expressed the pain and frustration felt by those of us who were in our twenties during the discovery and onset of aids. It was quite cathartic for some of us, like myself, who had lost loved ones.

I wholeheartedly recommend it for anybody who wants to watch a supremely talented pair of actors (Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington) bring a story shockingly to life.

It always will.  It always has to be, Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain.
A simply, sublime, performance, which still stuns, today.

I hadn't heard about Matt Smith.  Can't wait to check out that movie!

I needed this video

Great list

In addition to Robin Williams, Hank Azaria fought HARD for his role in The Birdcage because he really wanted to work with Mike Nichols and the cast. The caveat is that he has said in retrospect if it was made today he wouldn’t do it because it should have gone to a Latino actor.

what does it take? Um, good acting skills. What does it matter who they are in real life? The sign of a good actor is to take just enough of your own experience, but then disappear completely in  your role.

Young Antonio Banderas...uffff

❤

I have no doubt that every one of these actors are straight - except for one.  And that one would be Heath Ledger.  If you followed him from his early Australian TV performances and media appearances, you'd get it.   Having said that, his heartbreaking performance as Ennis Del Mar in BBM was simply brilliant - the only one that makes me cry in scene after scene.  After he, and BBM, lost to clearly inferior nominees, I ignore the Oscars - don't care who's nominated and don't care who wins.

The Bird cage with Robin Williams is an extremely POOR imitation of La Cage aux Folles (1978) - As usual with US imitations they didn’t even give the French movie any credits.

Hello to everyone!!! Im new to this page & I've just watched two with the same title, both of them with exactly the same actors!!!!!! 🤔🤔🙃🙃 I would put in this list Daniel Day-Lewis in My Beautiful Laundrett & the incredible William Hurt in The Kiss of Spyder Woman, together with Maurice my three favourite. It's Querelle, from Fassbinder in 1983-84!!!!! 😊😊🫶🫶

I am frankly tired of hearing about straight actors who play gay.  I don't really care how well they do it.  What I want to hear about is out gay actors who have been given the same opportunities to play straight roles.  So lets have some true equal opportunities!

Great video....annoying AI voice, omg

Good content subject, and I would join if it wasn’t for the annoying AI narration - mispronunciation, differing pronunciation, terrible punctuation. It’s just lazy, it could be a great video read by a human with effervescent to their delivery. The queer community are different, so let’s do something different and be known for our unashamed honesty.

Age difference gay encounters should be punishable by imprisonment
