My maternal grandfather was one of the builders of the Wrigley building in Chicago I wasn't born when he did this but I certainly heard about the experience that he had.

Happy Birthday Wrigley Building. You're an icon

Gotham City was inspired by Wrigley Building and Tribune Tower. When Tribune Tower East goes up it will give off really nice contrast. Old world and Future side by side

Damn the building has chewed all those years like a pro. Lol.

These Geoffrey Baer documentaries are themselves important historically. For history buffs esp. Chicagoans, these are a treasure !

I can imagine this building during the 1920s. Take out the modern buildings put a black and white filter and Michigan Avenue looks identical

I still like shopping in person.  An ice cream museum sounds interesting.

I enjoy architecture myself; ;because it brings me back to my past, a simpler time.  But, guys, let's not get too caught up in buildings.  The life is the people within them.  They do not "inspire", but merely give warmth and covering from the elements with artistic flare.  Someday all these buildings in every city will lie in ruin and the next generation will remember them no more, nor even care that they were there; but be living in their own day.

Great video!

Wrigley Building

Upgrade the lights on the Water Tower too to LED. The orange lights are way past their prime

Geoffrey needs to go to Catalina Island to do the history of Wrigley.  Your welcome.

You said stores are closing on Michigan Avenue from shopping on line ....... How about Riots and shop lifting gangs ......

“….on THE Michigan Avenue” ??? Pick a phrase, dude…Michigan Avenue or The Miracle Mile….miss Chicago every day of my life…..

Good thing it has no stores, it would be shoplifted to kingdom come like Michigan Ave.

You want people to come back down to the magnificent mile and State Street and so on make it safe lock the criminals up after they commit drugs don’t let them loose right away. Have more police officers that you could visually see doing patrols. We don’t feel like you’re gonna get robbed to kill and raped. It’s a very common sense idea safety basic safety the human need.

Turn the mag mile into a place for adult entertainment with Casinos, dispensaries, bars, and experiences. What do we have to lose.

Pretty sure Gotham City was influenced by the Wrigley Building

Too bad Chicago’s idiot government wants to turn it into subsidized housing.
