• Surah Overview :

Surah Ali-Imran is the 3rd chapter of the Holy Quran, containing 200 verses (ayat). It is a Madani surah, revealed in Madinah over several years — following the Battle of Badr, during the visit of the Christian delegation from Najran, and after the Battle of Uhud.
Along with Surah Al-Baqarah, it is known as "Al-Zahrawan" (The Two Radiant Ones), as the Prophet ﷺ said these two surahs will come as shade for their reciters on the Day of Judgment.

• Why This Name ?

The surah takes its name from Ayah 33, where the family of Imran — father of Maryam (Mary) — is mentioned. Through this blessed lineage, Allah reveals the miraculous stories of Maryam's birth, upbringing, and the birth of Isa (Jesus).
