I took a walk with the palm trees as the daylight fell Sangria in a canteen Talking to myself This tattoo on my left hand Is turning purple-ish blue Daydreams of the romance Daydreams of you My pretty woman in a ballgown I'm Richard Gere in a tux Getting married in a courthouse Writing vows in a rush Making out before the judge With my teenage wife Got a wedding band done That I just might die with It's an American wedding They don't mean too much But we were so in love We had an American wedding Now what's mine is yours That's American law M-r- s dot Kennedy She signed her name in pen In a fancy fancy cursive Then turned her term papers in A thesis on Islamic virgin brides and arranged marriage Hijabs and polygamist husbands Those poor unamerican girls After school she ran to me Jumped in my 5.0 This is the home of the brave Land of the free But your parents still didn't know She said I've had a hell of a summer So baby Don't take this hard But maybe we should get an annulment Before this goes way to far It's just an American wedding They don't mean too much They don't last enough We had an American wedding Now what's mine is yours American divorce Well you can have my mustang That's all I've got in my name But Jesus Christ don't break my heart This wedding ring won't ever wipe off But if you stay Girl if you stay You'll probably leave later anyway It's love made in the U.S.A
I mean I’ve listened to hotel California many times cuz of my dad but I prefer american wedding because the lyrics are much more deeper and insightful, it’s about the glamour and glorification of western culture when in reality it’s also just as shallow and depressing(eg.this song hints about child marriage) it also tries to convey the idea that Americans think they’re superior to every race (eg.lyrics said hijabis and polygamist husbands) but Americans have also been western colonists with a dark past of slavery. american's usually percieve un american girls, as oppressed, but the same people can't even keep up their marriage (american wedding -> american divorce). . emphasises how fancy her writing is - she's educated, or so she thinks. The lyrics say she's submitting a thesis on HER narrow-minded view of Islam, where all she sees is the hijabs (purposefully mispronounced to show her ignorance), underage marriage, men having multiple wives, etc. It's showing that the wife has all these stereotypes about the Islamic culture and has written a thesis on it, being like, "oh those women in Islam have it so bad, thank god I'm American". But the kicker is that it's HER who has the tumultuous marriage - she who married impulsively when she was still in school, a rushed marriage in a courthouse, and an annulment just as quick. That's what the song is trying to say - how much do American Weddings mean anymore, ending as quick as they begin? So yea in summary American wedding >>>> hotel California
Leon Kennedy my beloved This song is for you The whole world knows its true You've been through too much Friends, loved ones, monsters, their deaths and such Your life is more than tough And love hasn't been any less rough So of what I can do this is the least A little poem for my knight that fights a beast
Since everyone was hating on my other poem ( @RubesAnnusĂnnŭs ) about Leon Kennedy, im back again, on my other account, to....
WRITE ANOTHER ONE!
Leon we all know you for the incident But i know you because i took my whole life and put your line through it I hope the reasons i complain are because im carrying your burdens People say i talk too much but how can i not love you You give me a hope that never ends You are beautiful You are you My words for you are true Through blood, through water, through life, through death Ive got a silver heart full of love that from you gets its health.
