I love my Tuareg it’s an awesome bike…when I was buying the choice was between a  T7 & a Tuareg. The sensible choice would have been the T7 with its bullet proof reliability & huge dealer support. But I just wanted a Tuareg for all the reasons Chris talks about here…no regrets it’s everything I had hoped 🤙

I love how chilled out you are talking about the bike whilst at the same time absolutely sending it 😆 Love it 🙌

Man, what a review, that's all I need before buying one. I had my T7 stolen in the beginning of a crazy journey of mine, then got the Africa Twin which honestly I did not love, great bike but not my type, and now I was trying KLE500 that you almost got me buying it with your video about it or lately coming back to the T7 again, but fortunately I have remember Aprilia, which first of all is a brand that I never had or tried, and then I was fortunately surprised by this Touareg Rally version that got all my attention since. Thanks Chris! Top notch driver also btw! :hand-purple-blue-peace:

I’m impressed at how much you’re impressed. We all know how honest you take these reviews. If I was anywhere near looking to source a bike of this caliber, I’d take a hard look at this one.

Thanks for validating Tuareg owners

Got mine this month. In love with this bike. Such fun on the trails.

I bought the regular  version, Tuareg 660 in 2022. It has proven to be a reliable, capable back road touring / adventure bike with the ability to go cross country when needed. I'm an older rider and ride mine as a summer weekend tourer in the French smaller roads and unmade lanes. I can't imagine ever changing it for something else. I have ridden a T7 extensively and would offer the opinion that perhaps the Yamaha might tolerate a bit more physical abuse, and a bit less maintenance, but unless you are going to ride across the Gobi desert unsupported, the Tuareg is a less tiring, easier bike to ride for the regular rider.

Great review!
Love the internet. A lot of whining about longterm reliability by non-owners sitting infront of a keyboard, instead of riding.
Since 2024 the Tuaregs have been pretty much bulletproof, electronics included. Since May I‘ve done more than 6000 miles with my Rally with zero troubles. I‘m still getting more and more amazed by this bike with every trail.
Have fun being boring and reliable😎

Now get them to give you the standard model and do a back to back of how that compares.

I love my 2022 regular Tuareg (with a few bits), it's done 1000km days on cruise control, and 150km days on hard TET sections. Plus it's my choice for daily hooning too. I frequent all the user groups. There are some niggles on the first models, but they're shockingly minor (most common is compression stacks upside down, fuel sender wiring, then less common is the water pump seal).

Reading comments about reliability from people who've never owned one is hilarious. Loads of bikes are way north of 50,000kms now, including many 'pros' and serious travellers.

The 660cc in this is so under-stressed compared to the Tuono/RS models, you can't compare them. I'm not blind, there's loads of blown-up Aprilias out there. I said I'd never buy another... now mine is out of warranty and I'm genuinely loath to trade it in. It's been all over Europe with me, and I do trust it.

THE review we've been waiting for, love it 🤩
glad this bike is getting the love it deserves

If you had it mainly in "Off Road" mode then that sets the throttle to the most aggressive immediate setting, which will make it feel twitchy at low revs. Try setting up a user mode with throttle backed off slightly (it just affects the response, not the power it allows) and it smooths out. Urban mode is the most smooth.
I'd agree that the 1 to 4 settings for each variable are not intuitive. A year of owning one and I still can't remember if 4 is more and 1 is less and I think it swaps over for Traction control vs Engine braking. Ie. 1 is more traction control but 1 Engine Braking is less. And then ABS should be called A B and C as it's not how much ABS, but what combo, a) All on, b) On Front and Off Rear , c) All Off -- probably not in that order.

Chris any chances of testing the Moto Guzzi V85? I know it's nowhere near bikes like Tuareg when it comes to offroad capability, but it's pretty much the only adventure bike with some character. At least to me.

Best bike in class hands down

Another excellent review Chris!
And when the closest I get to off road riding is turning into my driveway I can live vicariously through this video and get to experience just a little bit of what’s possible. Cheers from 🇦🇺

Chris finally getting your hands on the best mid weight ADV, the Aprilia Tuareg 660. Had one and simply love it , just do it all bike. Was actually quite surprised how well it rode on road, and off-road was way above my capabilities 😅😅😅.
Chris you will be able to use it properly, hope you get it as long-term tester. You should do original Dakar trip on it.
Keep up with great work 🤟

ehi dude, too much skilled are you
incredible
seems a 450 under your hands
impressive, great review!!!

Yes Chris!! At last a review of this amazing bike. I stumbled across mine when looking for a Tenere but so happy I did. Definitely a keeper and one of my top 3 bikes out of the 25 I've owned. Get out on a tour/ scratch on one too, it's phenomenal at that too 💪😄

You look as if you're having a blast 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧

I've got 17 bikes inc 6 gs's and a tiger 900 a ducati and dr650 for remote travel.   They rarely get ridden since I got my tuareg.
