John Lennon described this in an interview as Incest.

Ringo's 1973 Ringo album was his third album not his first.  He put out Sentimental Journey and Beaucoups of Blues before.

Sentimental Journey was Ringo's first album.

I read the book patti boyd wrote called "wonderful tonight". She was heartbroken over georges affairs.
She also said he had stopped giving a crap about her. He didn't seem to care about her anymore, and eric was giving her a lot of attention.
Patti really loved george. In her book, it didn't come across like she was in love with eric. He was her rebound, and eric treated her like crap also.

Patti seemed like such a wonderful person. She definitely went through a lot. She was married to 2 very difficult men and inspired some of the best songs in american history.

Wish Paul would talk about it.

Maureen was quite a common and "ordinary" young woman..she had no class..I never cared for her personally...whereas Patty Boyd was beautiful and had a certain class that Maureen lacked...I would imagine that George was just "in lust" over Maureen...he was infatuated by her but very little else and their "affair" was short lived...very sad that Maureen died at such a young age..only 48 from Leucemia...RIP to the former moonstruck lovers ..George and Maureen RIP!

George seemed to be an opportunist when it came to women. Maureen seemed like a young kid who didn't understand that cheating begins long before you end up in someone's bed. Married people need to avoid inappropriate situations. I'm sure that the amount of time they all spent together and drugs and alcohol played a part. It's a shame that this happened so close in. Spouses, children and friendship are hurt by this. Betrayal involving close friends is horrible.

Life long Beatles fan and never knew this til today. Totally sucks cause i can't "unknow" it. I don't care the reason or rationale, ruins George for me. Sucks. Anyone who has been cheated on knows how deep it cuts.

you explained It so well

George was in lust, Ringo actually let him off. How many of us could forgive a "friend" who would do a thing like this?

beyond sad and gives a whole new spin to the little Georgie Harrison quiet Beatle spin. What goes around comes around and i think George tasted some of his own BITTER BREW when his own love left him for Eric C. havinglived through the 60s as a rabid Beatle fan many of lifes early  experiences were prompted by Beatles music and lifestyles. I played  guitar and sang, studied  TM  with Maharishi, smoked HERB and repeatedly enjoyed Psychedelics not long after 12 and onward. Hair and  clothes along with  life aspirations looking to theleadofmy heroes. Luckily i have not followed this particular aspect in relationships. Much regards to Ringo ... you  deserve better than this !

George had written awhat can only be described as a love song called "Maureen" in 68-69, maybe their triste's were ongoing for years.

awesome video

Your accent dude is funky!!!:text-green-game-over:

Heavens, chill out. Human is human is human❤

I fell in love with Maureen from those short clips of her rocking the songs on the rooftop concert.

Ringo ended with Barbara Bach and lived happily ever after

The "spiritual" Beatle.

Ringo is who ruined his marriage. He was stepping and and started his problems with alcohol.

For all his claims, being spiritual and philisopical  he was just a weak person who couldn't keep his trousers up.
