Back then they could work better drunk than these modern wrestlers can sober

I will never forget, I was 6yrs old and I was able to sit front row for a wrasslin matches with Kerry vs One Man Gang.. and Iceman King Parsons vs (I cannot remember AND Rick Rude was there with manager Percy Pringle.. I got to see my hero Kerry Von Erich.  He was larger than life! Gave us high fives after he won, gave me a hug and said God Bless..
Y’all- I was on a HIGH for months!!
The memories are still vivid.

There will never be another Jim Cornett. We’re lucky being able to listen to him and his memories.

" Looked like a piss hole in a snowbank." I don't know where Cornette gets his analogies but they are some of the greatest I have ever heard.

Thats a great way to describe people on pills to this day "Its like he was under water"

Everyone who wrestled Kerry Von Erich wrestled an inebriated Kerry Von Erich.

I remember that announcement and that match as a little kid. I watched every Saturday night begging mom to let me stay up. I stopped watching by my mid teens but loved the Avon Erichs back in the day. Just seeing the announcement about their biopic with Zac Efron  brought me here. I look forward to it.

Kerry Von Erich is one of the greats. wish he could have lived longer and stayed out of trouble to have a longer career

I put a lot of Blame on Papa Fritz not stepping up and putting his foot down.

I was there and watched that match live. I questioned at the time when they announced he had a fever due to the "Flu" if it was really the Flu or something else was going on with Kerry. Was a pretty good match regardless. They gave us 1 hour of entertainment that night. I had fun!

I had the pleasure of meeting Kerry at what use to be Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville Texas. The kindest guy I've ever met. Broke my heart to lose such a talent. That whole family was awesome. You can't come to our home and speak bad on the Von Eric family dude. Good people man. All add missed.

Kerry came to the ring with his boots unlaced, then asked about a girl. Flair quietly told him that they had an hour to go. At one point, Kerry left the ring looking for that girl. Flair wound up carrying the match. Afterwards, he went backstage and threw the belt at Ken Mantell (booker). Flair said that someone had to have a serious talk with Kerry (Fritz, maybe). It's just that Fritz was in denial. When David died, some World Class officials went to his house to tell him before he heard it second hand. When he opened the door and saw them all standing there with long faces, his first words were, "Okay. Go ahead and tell me. Which one is it?"

"KERRY'S FOOT  NEVER LEFT  THE MAT."   (come on...  you  know what you did there)

"Kerry Von Erich is wrestling against doctor's orders.  He has a 103 degree temperature, and wants Flair to catch what he's got."

Half the wrestlers from the 70's & 80's died way too early. Hope people like Vince McMahon appreciate that alot of forgotten wrestlers made them wealthy beyond their wildest dreams but I doubt it.

There was also a spot where Kerry sunset flipped an invisible man, and Flair just stood there watching in amazement.

Didn’t everyone in the 80’s wrestling a wasted Kerry?

I saw that match ...it actually aired . Kerry was fried . The next week Fritz was doing damage control saying he had a 106 degree fever but didn't want to let the fans down .

But the best rivalry of all times was the Von Erichs vs. The fabulous Freebirds

Kerry had the Brown Bottle Flu
