Congratulations! I am not an electronics tech but I recognise expertise and persistence when I see it. 👍.
It's so great to see an old dead device returned to the land of the living.

Late 90s was the peak of crt trchnology, they were incredible

Thanks for another good trip down memory lane 👍

Oh my goodness, I haven't seen one of those in a while!

Back in the late '90s I used to job around for a local second hand goods reseller. I was mostly sorting out computer and software issues at the time, but, there was a long shelf full of used tellies, and occasionally, there'd be one of those somewhere along the line. Now, I started to call them "Fido".  One day, the boss, Neil, was looking for a set to show to a potential customer, and I suggested "What about Fido, over there?". He was a bit bemused and asked "Why Fido?"... I said "Just turn it round and look at it from the back!".

Because it looks like a dog's face!!

You can say that again Michael 😂

Love this channel , repairing things 😍

Your right, unique design, Michael. A nice looking set for a 90s era set. Great memory lane memories for you too. We forget how heavy these tvs are sometines. Ive lost a couple in the past due to my occasional incompetence lol

Great video michael, i reakon you would have made a note  on the manual, but instead you kept the old part as a reference to see the difference in the new one.

Brilliant.  Thanks  Michael.

Thanks for sharing and thank you for a good chuckle. Most of us have problems finding service data on the Internet. What a luxury to have so many service manuals that you have a problem fishing out the right one from your library. 🤣

Just discovered channel, great stuff. Trying to teach myself CRT repairs late in life life, me n the grandson have had some success 😂 But I can't justify anymore CRTs in my life 😢

It was worth doing and it's worth keeping. We see that you like keeping Michael, even keeping take one where you really wanted to start with take two.😊

That tubes got a lot of life left in it. Good repair !

Nice one Michael👍

I have my parents' 1996 Sharp TV at home—a 21-inch model with tinted glass and a nearly flat picture tube. The tube is showing some signs of wear, though: sharpness drops slightly as brightness increases. Even so, the color controls on the picture-tube board are all set to virtually the same position. Still, when turning it on after a long period of inactivity, the image has a slightly pinker tint than desired for the first few seconds. I’ve known this TV for exactly 30 years and two weeks; the horizontal deflection circuit and the power supply have always emitted a very loud whine—at 15,625 Hz and 18.2 kHz, respectively.

Handy to have a few genuine parts as well in stock  ,would the kit of come from C Hydes I wonder or Ohm supplies   both sadly gone now

UK made samsung, oo er!

hi. you have a wonderful amount of parts and service manual. I wish I could have as much as like that.hehe. any way is that a auto volt  tele set?

Hi micheal as i can remember i think  the CRT tube is a phillips tube.

I used to buy Samsung tvs and vcrs and they were ok as budget sales but those ugly ones had a serious PSU design fault most of the engineers knew about it I fitted one of those original kits and it blew up in no time so no more, full HT into that control chip not a good idea a redesign needed!
