*Lightning Strikes Twice ⚡️ Gay's trip to the Hawks vs Pies Draw (again!) 🏉😂*
Gay went on her Pat Malone to the MCG for a Saturday night blockbuster — Hawthorn vs Collingwood — and honestly, the footy gods had other plans.
Back in Round 8 these two sides drew 93-93. Nobody in their right mind thought lightning would strike twice… except it did. Same two teams, ANOTHER draw. First time in AFL history it's happened twice in the same season. You can't script this stuff. 🤯
Highlights of Gay's night out:
🏟️ Awesome seat — Row B, 2nd row from the fence, right on the fence line (while my friend - Cammo lived it up in the MCC)
🎫 Seat #3, next to a lady who had seats 1, 2 AND 4 — and very kindly informed me they "usually swap around"
🙄 Cold vibes from the seat next to me
🧍♀️ Stood for the whole of Q2 purely to escape the frost
😤 Sat back down at halftime because my legs gave out
🧍♀️🧍 Spent the last quarter standing with Cammo
🚂 Cammo bailed early because Geelong trains wait for no one
🚉 Then the real final quarter began: STRANDED at Caulfield Station for over an HOUR when the Pakenham/Cranbourne line carked it
🤝 Gay's random act of kindness — gifted her signed Josh Battle player card to a fellow Hawks fan who missed out
🕝 Left home 3:30pm... walked back in the door 2:30am. Eleven hours. For a draw.
Plus some genuinely unhinged ASMR of the MCG crowd because why not.
A draw, a hostile seat-mate, a train disaster and an act of Hawthorn charity — this is footy fandom in its purest, most chaotic form. 💛🤎
