In this video, I'm showing you how to fully reshell a Nintendo GBA SP console. In this video, however, I am using a Hispeedido GBA SP backlight mod, which is hand now the easiest and highest quality backlight mod currently on the market. It is a completely drop-in screen, so no trimming the shell and soldering is completely optional! Heads up anyone that’s replacing their shell. Use the power switch thats included with the new shell as the original won’t fit in most reproduction shells.

To anyone that might be interested... If you are doing this, be careful of the 2 "pins" (I don't know the exact terminology, not a native English speaker) of the speaker (13:40). They have to be somewhat "lifted" so that they touch the other side. If you don't have good (or any) sound after reshelling, that is the problem.

This is so cool.
I've been needing to reshell an old AGS-100 and replace the screen on an AGS-101. The replacement parts have been sitting in my Amazon wishlist for over a year.

Your screen is cheaper than the 101 screens I've found, your lighting effects are so cool! and you show us how to install it on top of it. I'm very glad this popped up in my feed.

EDIT: Big tip for anyone attempting this. Do NOT use the screwdrivers that come with the kit, the ones it comes with are kinda bad. I'd recommend ordering an ifixit one instead.

Thank you SO much. I just had to take apart my SP twice because it wasn't opening properly after I followed the shell manufacturer's guide. Your method for reinserting the hinges saved me from a big headache

Thank you for telling us what screws go where. Its annoying when I forget what screw goes in which spot 😂. This will help a lot when I reshell my sp.

Great video, very detailed.
I got an old sp and upgraded it for myself and your video was extremly helpful.
1 note is that you are missing a couple of buttons like the shoulder trigger that could have been nice to see how they sit with the spring.
