16-1 WS record in 17 straight games. Unreal Dynasty!

Man Clemens was dealing game 2

The Yankees essentially had a home crowd 5 games in a row.

Both game 5s of the Mets 2000 and 2015 world series had their ace starter stay the mound in the 9th.

The fact that this Yankees team made it to the World Series speaks wonders to how much experience helps.

3Peat and 4 in 5 years. That's a Dynasty.

That Paul O'Neal at bat was epic!

There are lots of overlooked moments in this series. People tend to think the Mets got smoked because it was only five games, but they didn't. It was actually quite tense. Game 1 there was the Timo Perez blunder which resulted in him getting thrown out at home. Going into the ninth inning the Yankees were down and had to rally to tie and ultimately walk off in extras. In game 2 the Mets put up a five spot in the ninth inning to put them within one but fell short. After taking game 3, it appeared that the Mets were gaining momentum, but that was taken away in game 4 with Jeter's first pitch homer (even that game was decided by one run).

Finally, Piazza narrowly missed the sweet spot in hitting a two out game tying shot in game 5.

Couldn't even face the realization that both teams were essentially AT HOME during the series.

An inch more and that’s a dinger for Zeile and a Game 1 win. Such is life for a Mets fan.

Roger yelling I thought it was the ball is more nuts than if he threw the piece of bat on purpose 🤣🤣🤣

Wish I was old enough to remember these early 00’s Yankees teams, at least I remember ‘09 ✊🏽

Mom would always say, "let your little brother win one."

16:15 Clay Bellinger playing left field with the Yankees. His son Cody Bellinger will be the Yankees CF on opening day 2025. Cant wait

As a lifelong yankee fan and met hater, I waited my entire life for this. Turned out just fine

I kind of wish Roger pitched game 5 @ Shea stadium. The fans over in queens would have greeted him politely, I’m sure.

4th times in 5 years... that is why I can live with what we have now. I was alive to witness this dynasty plus the whatever 2009 WS. The Yankees suck now, but whatever, I lived through one of, if not the best dynasties of all time.

I wonder if I will ever see this again in my lifetime? The Yankees had outstanding years in the 70s and the 90s. I was torn because I loved the Mets, but I respected the exceptional talent of the Yankees.
