Yuzu later confessed, at that time while he was laying on the ice, that he believed that his skating life was over.  Yet, his passion for the ice forced his will to get up and skate.

the way he cried at the end made me realize how scared he too might've been

to get injured that way and still get silver (yeah he got silver) shows what a crazy level he was on at this point. Amazing athelete.

Being caught in the moment where you nearly just cry yourself. The definition of "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" everyone

He can tell this to his children. I had a terrible shock, I hit my head, I cut my chin, I twisted my ankle ........ and I skated like that. A brave man

Who's here in 2026?

Its not like Hanyu to be falling after the jump. We know he is hurting when he skates, but he never gives up. Hanyu is stronger than he looks, despite his delicate body. Im proud of him

The fact that his coach was way more interested in his well being and physical state is very much appreciated

"We're going to take a quick break while the skaters are warming up and nothing interesting is happening"   ...and now we've missed the most dramatic accident ever.

Pooh-San is always there for Yuzuru

Someone make a movie. That deserved an award. Yuzu need a never-give-up award. 2nd movie could be yuzu winning the 2018 olympic.

中国の選手と衝突したところから生で見てたけどまさか出るとは思ってなかったし、最後までやりきれると思ってなかった。失敗しても何度も立ち上がってやったことが素晴らしいことだとおもう。

Man... He went 100% for those quads and 3A (all of them fully rotated)... To do such difficult jumps in that physical condition requires a lot of guts and determination. As a competitive skater myself, when I'm even with a little injury, it stays in the back of my head everytime I'm preparing to jump my doubles... Can't imagine the mental strength he had to have to finish this program.  True Champion.👏👏👏👏

I like these commentators actually. They seemed very worried and considerate of Hanyu once they saw him close up. Even that commentator who said Yuzuru should go ahead and he's made of tough stuff acknowledged the injuries several times.

The man who defied gravity DESERVES HIS OWN MOVIE!!!

Oh my god, when he cried at the end I almost cried myself

it's so crazy how he could barely walk after the programme but still skated like his life depended on it and gave us the performance of his life, quite literally.

DEEP RESPECT for Yuzuru to go out there and compete after that serious collision. ❤

I found about yuzuru just today while scrolling down YouTube and I'm already ready to die for him, the passion he has, the power he has, the spirit he has...I already am a die heart fan, I'm already in love with him, I salute this man.

Huge respect to him that after getting injured he didn't give up.
