I filmed trains arriving & departing from Shimamoto Station.
Shimamoto Station is located in Shimamoto Town, Mishima District, Ōsaka Prefecture, and serves the JR West Kyōto Line. It is a relatively new station, having opened in 2008.
The station is situated on a section of the Kyōto Line that features four parallel tracks. It is a surface-level station with a single island platform serving two tracks; platforms are provided only for the inner "local" tracks, while the outer two tracks are used by Special Rapid and Limited Express trains.
There are two tracks: Track 1 serves trains bound for Takatsuki and Ōsaka, while Track 2 serves trains bound for Kyōto and Kusatsu.
This footage was recorded during the daytime on a weekend/holiday. Train frequency is 7–8 trains per hour during rush hours and 4–5 trains per hour during the day.
The 207 and 321 series trains—which operate exclusively on the local tracks—terminate at Takatsuki Station during the day, so they do not appear in this video.
