flywheel of terror more like flywheel of minor inconvenience

There's elements of this mod that have a lot of potential so it's a shame that the dev sucks. I think the house thing is an incredibly cool idea, and I like the overall premise of "Minecraft mod that represents the mind of a serial killer who is experiencing gradually worsening paranoia and remorse." I think if someone else wanted to make a mod inspired by these things, it might be good to make several "stages of decline" where the events gradually become more frequent and obtrusive, and eventually give it a climactic ending of some kind to conclude the implied story. I like how it was very restrained when it came to killing the player, it seems like (when you're playing the mod for the first time and don't know all the events yet) it does a good job at instilling a sense of paranoia in the player by not providing a release from the tension by just killing you and being done with it. I think this all ties in with the house mechanic well, making the house essentially your only "friend" while the mobs and even the world itself seems to hate you - this has the potential to really capture the vibe of being a deeply paranoid and unwell serial killer who is growing fearful that they will be caught or that their actions will catch up to them somehow, and only feels safe when hiding away in their home, only venturing out whenever necessary. There's a lot of potential that I hope someone else is able to take inspiration from and make an actually good mod with all those good elements and cutting out all the lame stuff (and y'know. the racism obviously.)

low key I think the early version of the mod is genuinely ragebait

Thanks for being the only person ive seen actually do a deep dive into the mod instead of being like "okay guys the mod has bad things so I wont upload it anymore"

I wished we could normalise retaining and showing evidence of stuff relevant to serious accusations like this.

Thank you for FINALLY being the first and so far ONLY person to actually post EVIDENCE of the offending content. EVERYONE ELSE just seemed to take random youtube comments at face value, which was VERY annoying to see.

In my opinion, the main thing that separates this from most other horror mods (BESIDES THE OBVIOUS) is the "house" mechanic. Its a very unique mechanic to implement in a mod like this, and it certainly adds a layer of strategy to the game, especially in the earliest available version.

I find it depressing that creativity like is is found in the same code that contains such hatred... and it would've been such an easy fix for the creator to get the mod back up.

Fun fact: the game turning red and summoning red entities is a reference to the fact the creator only accepts one skin color

This mod feels like something you would read out of a shitty creepypasta from the 2010s made by a 13 year old about a evil copy of Minecraft that is so scary it makes the protagonist pee his pants

It sucks that such cool concepts, like the mod knowing exactly where your house was and knowing when the player was inside or outside of said house and being able to put traps in your house, were wasted on a repetitive mod with a racist dev. I’d love to see another dev take the whole “living house” thing and put it in another horror mod, I love the concept that the horror is brought to the one place you feel safe in. The mod is both really cool but also stereotypical with the overly loud noises, scary faces (or faceless), scary items or super dark mazes.

17:36 had me dead 😭

i love the 'fuck it,  B O A T"

Horror mod?? I don't understand how just. preventing you from playing the game is scary. this video made it seem much more like a "rage game" mod than anything

The thing that really gets me about the "Are you going somewhere?" mechanic in this mod is that this is like the worst possible mod to have this mechanic. Nothing in this game is an actual real threat to you. Yeah there's scares but you'd think that kind of thing would be way more fitting in an instantkill dwellerslop mod. Building up doesn't prevent any vital part of the mod from happening. So while a clever counter against like, idk, Baron of Something specifically, it's pretty much pointless here. Not to mention the fact the mod takes your items and puts them in a box IN THE SKY. THAT YOU HAVE TO BUILD UP TO. It honestly feels like the dev just had a lot of different ideas and shoved them in without much concern for the main themes of the mod, and that "going somewhere" thing is probably the most blatant example.

14:50 "dont touch green colour challenge" ahhh

"white family jumpscare" sounds so weird 🙏

I was unaware I was in possession of "lost media"?? I thought the mod was reinstated after it originally got banned like last week😭
did not know about all the wack stuff in the code either I'm sobbing

finally the ONLY person who says the mod name THANK YOU

I like the idea narratively of this mod, being this serial killer that is being haunted and cursed by his past victims
But in practice (ie watching this vid (superb video, btw)), it's more like the player fighting against a troll game, but more akin to one fighting against their pet from eating a radiactive rock (because Thursday are your day to eat the radiactive rock)
