I kept thinking, “Wow! That looks lovely and perfect” and then you’d do something else and something else and it just got better and better with each new addition!! Some of the techniques and tricks you use are fabulous!! I love the way you scratch back paint to reveal grass!! That was a joy to watch! Thank you!

I find your videos so soothing.. and I appreciate so much that you don’t add unnecessary music that would make it hard to focus on what you’re saying, like so many others do! When someone is explaining their process or teaching something, and there is music over their voice, I shut it right off. So thank you! Beautiful work!

This is how a watercolor tutorial should be done. The video perspective to the vocal explanation is easy to follow and straight forward. Thank you

You’ve taken us back to a golden age of watercolor painting, thank you.

I prefer sketches as reference too. Photos contain too much information. And by sketching you already filtered out all the unnecessary details.

I enjoyed the painting because it was done in real-time, and we got to see your palette, well done

I like that you kept the painting simple, with just enough detail. You avoided the tendency to overwork. Beautiful result!

Love that technique for creating a river's edge!

Oh, Mr Stephen!! I am in awe. When I first began watching this video and you talked about a sketch book I thought this was going to be a boring video. I can’t sketch because I can’t draw. I always need a line drawing. But I continued to watch your video and when you did that fantastically beautiful sky I was hooked. You are such a talented and confident painter. I absolutely loved your video and your beautiful painting. I am now a forever student of yours! 37:32

The final few minutes of strokes just make painting jump out. So impressive and helpful.

Hi, I've been painting less than a year and I search through lots of these videos looking for tips. This video is excellent and I decided to paint this scene you've provided. I noticed a definite change in the process... the idea of emphasizing features to give them relative distance and perspective is super helpful. I like how subtle your gradients, values and hues make a gradual and realistic final product. Thank you for this video, it really helped me a lot.
