🧬 What Ancient DNA Revealed About Your Bloodline: https://theorigindna.com/ The population replacements historians never saw coming — here is the full genetic record.
Who are the Black Portuguese people, really—and how far back does their story go? Is their ancestry rooted only in the historical era, or does it connect to population movements that shaped the Iberian Peninsula thousands of years ago? Ancient DNA discoveries are challenging long-held assumptions and revealing a deeper, more complex picture of human history.
In this video, we explore the genetic and prehistoric background associated with Black Portuguese populations through the lens of archaeology, genetics, and historical migration. From Ice Age hunter-gatherers and early farmers to Bronze Age newcomers and later African influences, we examine the different population layers that contributed to the region’s genetic landscape. We also discuss the origins of key physical traits, the development of the Portuguese language within the Indo-European family, major Y-DNA and mtDNA haplogroups, and what modern genomic research tells us about ancestry in Portugal today.
