White Capped Pionus owners, what has been your experience owning these birds?

Pionus really do seem like the ideal parrot.

We need you to come back and make more videos! You’re one of the best on YouTube as you cover these kind of lessers known breeds 😢😢😢

My white cap talked lots! Mimicking us calling our kids down for breakfast, calling dog, answering phone.. basically everything we did all day. Very affectionate to me. Puffed up to my husband and walked back to me kissing me. Miss so much. ❤

If people were able to rent parrots for six months to see if they wanted to spend 50 years with them, 90% would end up with a nice species like this. Of course, that wouldn't be ethical to rent parrots, but it would probably result in fewer parrots being abandoned. The novelty of any exotic pet wears off very quickly. Good video!

I currently have a 21 year old White cap. She is quiet but was abused and is now extremely hormonal. She's was my first parrot and she's the best parrot. She's definitely a velcro bird.

I always say they look like cute little eagles.

Agree! I ended up with a talker. She's a little "branch potato". They can be spicy. My mom raised exotic birds. So I was around many types. The pionus are my favorite.

I had a white capped pionus at 18 that I never forgot. I would definitely say yes to the question in the title.

Basically everything you mentioned about this bird ticks all the boxes of the kind of bird I'd love to have. Minus the higher cost of course lol. Hopefully they can gain more popularity like the conures and other more popular birds and become more available.

I just got my blue headed pionus baby over the weekend waiting for him to come home He's still on two feedings a day... I've waited over 4 years I live in New Jersey and it's been really hard finding a pionus around here... I'm not sure what the prices are anywhere else but these birds go anywhere from 5K up. I have three other birds I'm not new to birds but this is my dream bird I love your videos!! I have a green cheek conure and two cockatiels and also had parrotlets and budgies in a path that I rescued and rehomed ❤️

I like your analysis with the breakdown into categories. Better than making a speech without any organization. Please do one for the african grey!

I have a 27 year old one. she is so quiet for the most part. Her name is Meekuh and I rescued her about 5 years ago. I got her for $70 with cage and resold the cage for 100.

I just want you to know that we absolutely love your videos! My wife and I just adopted an amazing little White Capped Pionus and it’s all thanks to your video. I really hope you continue to make amazing reviews and you have our support! Cheers :)

They are very rare where I am but my friend has 2 of them.
They have low energy like the Senegal.
Great video 😀

We had a white cap and loved him so much that when he died, we waited nine months to get a new baby from a reputable breeder.  At that time a white cap was under $1,000 but we ended up getting a more rare variant (dusky) and paid $1,400 but he fits your description to a tee. We live in a high rise apartment.

Our baby indian ringneck rarely come out of his cage .

The white capped pionus talk really well, they choose their owner just like the African Grey, amazing starter parrot...

I love your reviews. Been wanting a pet bird for a long time. I love birds and use to volunteer at a rescue center just so I could be around the owls and falcons. As a kid I had those cute little budgie birds and loved them cause I could have a whole flock of them without it being super loud, too much maintenance, and I could leave them alone all day since they had each other. Now I’m looking into a bigger bird. These reviews are helping me sort it out before I decide on a 30+ year relationship with one of these amazing animals and I’m leaning a lot on this breed

Hi! New fan and subscriber! I actually luckily just found and reserved a baby White Capped Pionus because of your fabulous and informative video! He or she (there are two and they’ll pick the best one suited for us) won’t be ready for a few weeks, but I’m sooo excited! I’ve been searching for a bird that we would be a good fit for, and would not have known of this amazing creature had I not found this video. Thank you so much for devoting your time to go over so many birds, and your other wonderful content - I’m sure that you’ve made many perfect bird matches for those that follow you or come across your channel! Thanks so much, again!❤
